Painfully Beautiful
I honestly don’t get why My Extraordinary has such low ratings. Maybe it’s because some viewers didn’t fully understand the intent of the story, or maybe they just don’t like sad endings, which I totally get. But for me, even though it was heavy at times, I found this series incredibly moving and touching.
The love story between Ken and Shake was so pure and emotional. It’s sad that their relationship didn’t get to fully bloom because of the accident, but I really appreciated how they got to bond and understand their feelings before that happened. That made everything hit harder in the end.
Now, I have to mention that Sandee’s character (Ken's friend) really frustrated me. No one, and I mean no one, has the right to out someone, especially if they’re not ready. That moment felt so violating.
Despite that, I found myself so invested in the story, especially the final episodes. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you're expecting a light, feel-good BL, but if you’re looking for something emotional, real, and heartfelt, My Extraordinary is definitely worth watching.
