A Parallel Universe Love Story Done Right

What can I say? I really love this pairing. I also love parallel-universe stories, and the bonus is they added mind-reading to this series. Me & Who follows the story of Popthorn—an orphan who works multiple jobs just to make ends meet. He gets into an accident and suddenly wakes up in another universe, the world of Suriya, a wealthy hotel owner. Meanwhile, Apo, a billionaire who looks exactly like him, also gets into an accident, and Popthorn ends up being reborn in his body.

Apo is in a relationship with Suriya, so Popthorn and Suriya have to pretend they’re still a couple—but eventually, they genuinely fall in love. I love that the relationship wasn’t rushed. They actually spent time getting to know each other, so the buildup feels real and earned. There’s one villain in the story, but it’s not exaggerated. Overall, the series still feels light and fluffy.

The plot twist in Episode 8 involving Apo’s half-brother was completely unpredictable. There are plenty of funny and sweet moments that keep you engaged. Popthorn is hilarious from the very beginning, especially when he’s practicing how to act like Apo. The chemistry between the leads is strong, and the NC scenes feel natural. The side couple also has great chemistry, and I really enjoyed their story too.

BigPark’s acting has improved a lot, and this series is definitely an upgrade from their 2024 show The Monster Next Door—I liked that one, but I love this. And of course, shoutout to François the butler—he’s absolutely hilarious and the role fits him perfectly.

The plot twist later on involving Apo’s car accident is predictable, but I honestly didn’t mind because the story kept me genuinely invested.

Overall, this series is super enjoyable and well-executed. There’s never a dull moment. The pacing is just right, and the visuals are beautiful. It's definitely a must-watch.

A Laundromat That Feels Like Home

Watching this series feels like being back in my hometown — my safe space. It’s like sipping a warm cup of chocolate while wrapped in a cozy blanket. Simple, yet comforting.

At first, I was hesitant to watch this series because of the characters’ age gap. I don’t support relationships between adults and teenagers; it’s just wrong in so many ways. Minato is a 29-year-old man who develops admiration for a teenager. Although he starts to feel something for Shin when the latter is still 17, he tries his best to avoid Shin’s advances and continues to hesitate even after Shin turns 18. Still, I wish they had made Shin a university student instead of a high schooler.

That said, I truly love everything about this series — the characters, the laundromat, the neighborhood, the storyline, the soundtrack — everything. The characters feel so realistic, like people you’d actually meet in real life. Minato comes off as a bit childish, while Shin is surprisingly mature for his age, knowing exactly what he wants (and what he doesn’t). It makes perfect sense why Shin is completely whipped for Minato — just watch it yourself to see the twist. It’s not obsession, but rather a pure, selfless kind of love. He’s even willing to sacrifice his feelings for Minato’s happiness.

As for the other characters, Asuka adds such charm to the story. I wasn’t fond of him at first, but he gradually grew on me and ended up becoming one of my favorites as the series progressed. His dynamic with Sakuma felt a bit weird at first — I thought it was unrequited love — but by the end, it seemed like Sakuma finally accepted Asuka. I do wish they’d had more screen time being sweet together this season.

That said, around episode five, the direction shifted a bit. It was a bit disappointing to see that Minato still hadn’t fully moved on from his past love, who happened to be his professor. But I understand that the writer might have done that intentionally to add some tension to the story.

It also got a little frustrating that Minato couldn’t clearly express his feelings about his closure with Sakuma Takuyaki — and whenever he tried to, something always interrupted him. It made things feel repetitive and dragged the series a bit.

Aside from that, there weren’t really any major flaws. I loved how it ended. I’m still on the fence about watching season two because of the mixed reviews, but overall, Minato’s Laundromat is a cute, heartwarming, and engaging series that kept me hooked from start to finish.

It Hurts So Good

Kill to Love is a beautifully crafted historical BL drama that I’d honestly compare to fine wine—it just gets better the longer you stick with it, lol. I wasn’t hooked at first; the beginning felt a bit vague and slow, but I’m so glad I didn’t give up. It keeps building up and gets more and more gripping with each episode.

Plot-wise, the concept isn’t entirely new—there’s forbidden love, betrayal, ambition, and power struggles—but the execution is what makes it stand out. It keeps you entertained and always curious about what’s going to happen next. Zi Ang and Shu He first crossed paths as kids when Zi Ang saved Shu He from danger. Years later, fate brings them back together as adults, and that’s where things really start to unfold.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the chemistry between the two leads. I mean, there are a lot of BL actors with great chemistry, but these two are on another level. On top of that, their performances were solid—especially Zhang Zhe. It’s his first main role, and I was honestly blown away by how good his acting was.

As the title suggests, Kill to Love is all about the lengths Zi Ang is willing to go just to win back the one he loves. He couldn’t care less about power—all he ever wanted was Shu He. You can really feel the depth of the story. It takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions. And even though there aren’t a lot of traditionally sweet or romantic scenes, the subtle gestures say it all. Through this series, you’ll feel sadness, joy, hope, heartbreak, and eventually, some form of healing.

The ending isn’t the typical “happily ever after,” but honestly, that’s what makes it hit even harder—it feels real. If you’re looking for a historical BL that’ll make you feel everything, this one’s definitely worth watching.

Too Much Drama, Not Enough Sweet Moments

Cupid's Last Wish is a body-swapping story where Win (played by Mix) ends up in his sister Lin’s body after a car accident.

Honestly, the series was a bit stressful to watch—mostly because of Win’s character. He started off okay in the first episode, but then his personality took a nosedive. He just kept getting more unbearable as the story went on. I get that he's going through a lot, but blaming Korn for everything? Not it.

On the bright side, Earth and Mix’s chemistry is strong as always. GMMTV really knows how to pair their actors well. That said, the romance is more of a slow burn since the body-swapping plot takes up most of the show. But even with that, you can still feel their connection.

Acting-wise, all three leads delivered solid performances. The body-swapping transitions were done really well and felt convincing.

One thing I really appreciated was the beautiful rural Thai landscapes and the spotlight on local food during their journey. But there’s this one thing that bugged me: how does a big farm not have a vet for sick cows? Kinda feels like a plot hole.

Overall, I wasn’t completely satisfied—mainly because of the ending. It felt rushed and incomplete, like we barely got to see Win and Korn enjoy their time together. I wish they had either extended it to 12 episodes or cut out some of the filler scenes. Plus, Win’s character barely developed—he was still annoyingly loud and difficult even toward the end.

He Was Straight Until He Meets Him

This series had potential to be even better. I actually enjoyed the first few episodes, but as the story went on, the screen time of the main couple being together started to feel limited. The focus shifted more toward family issues and power struggles, which made the romance take a backseat.

That said, I really liked the love story—especially how deeply Huaien loves Xiaobao. He couldn’t do much at first because of how complicated their situation was, but once things got moving... Wow! Xiaobao may have fallen first, but Huaien definitely fell harder.

One thing I really appreciated is that there's no homophobia in this series, despite it being set in an old era. Xiaobao’s close friend was against their relationship at first, but in the end, he just let them be. Even Xiaobao’s parents and sister were accepting. Being gay wasn't a big issue, which felt refreshing, especially in a historical setting.

---

Let’s talk characters:

Xiaobao is rich, spoiled, a little immature, and kind of stubborn—but in a charming way. He always talks about girls... until Huaien comes into the picture. Huaien, on the other hand, is the cold, quiet type—but the more they interact, the closer they get.

I love how confident Xiaobao is. At first, he seems like the type who’s into girls, but the moment he meets Huaien, he pretty much forgets all about them—LOL! I also admire how straightforward he is with his feelings. Even though it’s a conservative time period, he never questions himself and just embraces the fact that love is love. No drama. No denial.

The chemistry between them is so palpable. The way they look at each other? Ugh, my heart. There are kissing and bed scenes—but they cheekily close the bed curtain right away. 😂

---

Everyone did a solid job acting-wise, even the supporting characters. The cinematography is really pretty too. You can tell the budget wasn’t huge but honestly, it’s still a decent watch.

Even though the leads are separated from episode 6 and only reunite in episode 11, I still ended up enjoying Meet You at the Blossom. If you're in the mood for a historical BL with some silliness, drama, and action, give this one a shot!

Didn't Expect to Love This So Much!

OMG, this series is so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time! I started watching Peach of Time with low expectations, and wow—was I wrong. It completely caught me off guard in the best way. I didn’t expect to sign up for such a roller coaster of emotions. It has some lighthearted moments, but it never gets boring, and the dialogues are surprisingly well-written.

What makes it stand out is how unique it is—one of the main characters speaks Thai and the other speaks Korean, but somehow it just works. It’s actually my first time watching a series like this, and I loved the cultural mix. The story is also easy to follow since the cast is small, which helps you connect more with each character.

If you liked He's Coming to Me or Something in My Room (though that one is a little draggy 😂) I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this one too. My only complaint is that it felt a little too short for my taste. Ten episodes with just 27 minutes each didn’t feel enough—but to be fair, they did manage to wrap up the major and side plots pretty well within that time.

As for chemistry? Jimmy and his partner in this series have amazing chemistry—honestly, the best I’ve seen from him. They’re adorable together (the height difference? Chef’s kiss). Everyone in the cast did great, but I have to give a special shoutout to Jimmy—he’s improved so much since Why RU, and it really shows here.

Now, about the ending... I wasn’t completely satisfied. It felt a bit rushed and left me with a weird feeling like something was missing. But hey, I’m the type who loves both sad and happy endings, so maybe that’s just me being picky.

All in all, Peach of Time was still such a good watch. If you're in the mood for something emotional, heartfelt, and a bit different, I definitely recommend it. Just go in with an open heart—and don’t expect a fairytale ending. 💔💖

When First Love Transcends Time

First love, soulmates, unresolved feelings, grief, loss, coming-of-age—all in one story 😭

I was so lucky to discovered this hidden gem dubbed as Tagalog on YouTube. I've watched the whole thing while working on my computer.

I really loved the location in the early scenes—it reminded me so much of my hometown. That nostalgic vibe just hit different. The movie follows the coming-of-age journey of two best friends who slowly fall for each other. But the catch is… they lived in a time when being gay wasn’t as accepted as it is now. The concept isn’t exactly new, but I don’t know—this one really stuck with me. Maybe because I’m a big fan of Ohm and his acting got me from the start. He’s the kind of actor who always knows how to break my heart—just like he did in Bad Buddy.

What shocked me though is how the second half totally shifts. It’s no longer a BL—it turns into a reincarnation story! I honestly felt a bit robbed, lol. Dew (Ohm) dies and is reincarnated as a girl, and they meet again years later. When I read the plot summary, I really thought they'd reunite as guys. Maybe I should’ve watched the trailer first 😂. Still, no regrets watching it. It’s such a beautiful piece. Prepare yourself though—this one’s a serious emotional roller coaster. Tissues are a must!

Shoutout to the actress who played the girl version of Dew—she really looked like Ohm! Perfect casting. Everyone did great, but Ohm? He’s just on another level. So versatile!

Speedy Cars and Steamy Scenes

I’m not really into sport-themed drama, but I saw some good reviews about this series on YouTube so I thought, why not give it a try? Honestly, it was a bit boring at first, the opening scene was all about racing and I almost tuned out. But wow, I did not expect it to get so exciting a few episodes in. Every time there’s a race, my heart’s racing too literally haha.

And it’s not just about racing either. There are a lot of steamy scenes that definitely keep things interesting. When Babe and Charlie first showed up, I wasn’t really feeling it. Charlie seemed a little shady and there was no spark for me. But as the story went on, their chemistry totally grew on me.

As for Babe and Way’s storyline... man, I feel bad for Way. Like, it’s been 10 years and he still hasn’t confessed? That part felt kinda unrealistic, but hey, it made the drama more intense.

Overall, I ended up really enjoying the series. It surprised me in the best way.

Sweet But Not Sugar-Coated

I honestly didn’t expect much at first, but I ended up really enjoying it — glad I gave it a shot because the episodes just keep getting better. I originally watched this for Guide, but I ended up staying for the whole squad.

Bake Me Please can be a bit cliché — the classic sunshine guy falls for the cold and grumpy one — but somehow, it still kept me entertained. As painful as some parts are, the series gives off this warm, comforting vibe.

It also touches on how complicated relationships can get, and the emotional struggles that come with being in one. Plus, it dives into the reality of unrequited love — loving someone who just doesn't love you back.

---

What I liked:

✅ There are only a few characters, so the story’s easy to follow.

✅ The production value is pretty solid.

✅ The cinematography is beautiful, and the OST hits just right.

✅ Peach and Chin have decent chemistry — it’s not fiery, but it works.

✅ Everyone did a great job, especially Ohm and Poom, but I have to give a special shoutout to Guide — I just love his accent.

✅ It would've been even better if Poom had more screen time or was one of the main leads.

✅ The love square actually added a little spice without making things toxic.

✅ Supportive grandma

---

What didn’t work for me:

✅ Chin’s character is honestly hard to root for — he's too unreasonable, self-centered, and barely grows throughout the series.

✅ The lack of clear communication (especially on Chin’s end) gets frustrating.

✅ I lowkey wished Peach and Guy were the endgame, but of course that’s not happening — Ohm (Chin) is clearly one of the main leads.

---

Overall, Bake Me Please is a cooking-themed BL with a simple, easy-to-digest plot and easy on the eyes cast. It’s not a masterpiece, but it feels grounded and the casting was on point.

If you’re looking for a BL series you can binge in one sitting without getting emotionally wrecked, give Bake Me Please a shot. 🍰

A Sweet, Spicy Surprise I Didn't See Coming

Why did I sleep on this series?! If I had known it was an enemies-to-lovers story, I would've watched it way sooner, lol! I got hooked right from the first episode.

Plawan is a self-proclaimed popular vlogger, but in reality, he's broke. He's clumsy and chaotic, full of crackhead energy which I absolutely love! It's a complete 180 from his character in Pitbabe. On the other hand, Oab owns a famous restaurant and plays a serious, no-nonsense chef who barely smiles. Total opposites.

Plawan might not be good at cooking, but he’s surprisingly sharp when it comes to tasting and analyzing food, which earns him a spot in the training. The tension between him and Oab? So real.

The side couple’s story is also worth watching. JJ and Methas constantly bicker at first, but JJ gradually breaks through Methas’s cold exterior. Their chemistry isn’t exactly explosive, but their story is still captivating. JJ is Methas’ therapist, while Methas is your classic billionaire CEO who believes money solves everything. But when Methas comes in with his nonstop flirting, it’s honestly adorable and had me smiling like a fool. This series really shows how love can change someone.

Now let’s talk about the NC scenes—whoa. Episode 5 has one of the spiciest NCs I’ve ever seen. 🥵 Nothing feels forced, it’s clear that Sailun and Pon are super comfortable with each other, just like in Pit Babe. The scene is short but wild, and the background music gave it a Western movie vibe. Loved it.

There’s a love triangle (even a square at one point), but surprisingly, it’s not toxic at all. Yes, there are a few cliché scenes here and there, but the plot flows really well. The ending felt a little rushed, though.

Acting-wise, everyone delivered. I especially have to give props to Aon, who plays Kluea. I didn’t know this actor before, but he seriously blew me away. He nailed every emotion—even just through his eyes. Also, the OST lineup in this series is chef’s kiss—every track was a joy to hear. The cinematography? Another big plus.

Overall, it totally exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for something light, sweet, and full of lovey-dovey moments, This Love Doesn't Have A Long Beans is a must-watch!

Be Careful With What You Wish For

This movie is really well-done - it's intriguing, thrilling and moves at just the right pace. I haven't seen anything quite like this before, so it feels like a unique experience for me. The twists and turns definitely keep you hooked up from start to finish.

There are lots of valuable lessons to take away from this film. One thing that really stood out to me, is the importance of being content with what you have. The characters in this movie are so driven by ambition that they're willing to cross the line - almost like they're selling their souls just to get what they want. And of course, the consequences are heavy.

As for the cast, Vhong Navarro delivered a solid performance. However, I personally found Alex Gonzaga's acting a bit over the top for my taste.

BL with Green Flags And A Cup of Warm Milk

I had no idea Oxygen even existed until I watched Something in My Room (Nut’s other series). Since I love Nut, I figured I’d give this one a try. I didn’t watch the trailer, didn’t read the plot, just dove right in. I wasn’t familiar with the other lead, but their chemistry really surprised me. After just two episodes, I realized Oxygen is definitely one of those hidden gems. Their sweet, casual interactions totally pulled me in. 🥰

Solo (Nut) is the introverted, reserved type, a music student with a voice that’s so damn good. I didn’t even know Nut could sing! And of course, he’s as adorable as ever. His character struggles with insomnia and can only sleep after drinking this special warm milk from Gui’s café.

Meanwhile, Gui is this soft, gentle guy who’s always looking out for Solo. He has this green flag energy. He’s like the emotional support boyfriend. 🥹

Now, story-wise, Solo and Gui’s arc is a bit thin. Their connection feels a little rushed, there’s not much build-up but weirdly, I actually prefer that over super slow burn stories. Their chemistry and the cute moments made it totally worth it.

Their backstories were both heartbreaking. Gui grew up in an orphanage, and everyone else got adopted except him. And Solo, he may be rich, but he lost his mom when he was young, and it left him deeply lonely.

Phuri & Kao

Their story is way interesting than the main couple as I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, and they delivered. They bicker, they clash but when things go down, they’ve got each other’s backs. It’s a slow burn, but watching Phu slowly soften for Kao was so satisfying. They actually got me emotional by the end.

Dr. Petch & Khim

Their storyline is quirky and also interesting. Khim is a total fujoshi (into BL), and Dr. Petch pretends to be into guys but he’s really just into Khim.

There’s even a mini love triangle, but I’m glad Guitar didn’t get tangled up with the other guy. The love triangle added just enough spice without being annoying.

What I really appreciated was how the side couples were given enough screen time, but it never felt like filler. And while the show is mostly lighthearted and sweet, there’s still some drama especially with Solo and his dad.

The cinematography and soundtrack? Beautiful. The leads did well with their acting, though I felt some of the side couples were a bit stiff at times. Still, nothing too distracting. There’s definitely room for improvement.

If you're in the mood for something warm, sweet, and feel-good with a little sprinkle of drama, Oxygen is worth a shot. Just watch the first couple episodes and see if it clicks. 💖

Just Plain Awkward

This GL honestly felt like soft p*rn. 😂 The NC scenes were hot, but the acting especially the other lead was kind of stiff.

The plot is about two childhood friends who fall in love, but one of them is forced to marry a man. Fast forward two years, the husband becomes disabled and needs a private nurse… and guess who shows up? Yup, it's Nessie, her old flame. 🔥

The story actually had potential, but I just couldn’t get past the awkward acting. It got way too cringey, so I dropped it halfway through.

The Quiet Beauty Of Unrequited Love

It’s not exceptional, but it’s a solid watch and feels pretty realistic. We Best Love follows the classic enemies-to-lovers trope which I’m honestly a sucker for, but this one isn’t too intense. It’s more like, Shuyi dislikes Shide, but Shide is lowkey obsessed and just wants to be near him all the time. 😅 Honestly, Shide’s been totally whipped for Shuyi from the very beginning.

Shuyi, meanwhile, is dealing with heartbreak and unexpectedly finds love with someone of the same gender. The plot is simple but meaningful, it touches on unrequited love in a way that feels real and relatable.

So the love triangle (or square?) goes like this: Shuyi likes his childhood friend, Shide likes Shuyi, and Shi Zhe Yu likes Shide. Yep, it’s a whole web of unreturned feelings, which the story really leans into. Shuyi’s confusion about his feelings for Shide is something I think a lot of people can relate to especially since he even dates a girl at one point just to figure things out. But that moment when Shuyi finally confesses to Shide while crying, and then they kiss? I literally giggled, it was so sweet. 🥰

The pacing is good, and the actor who plays Shuyi is honestly great, he nails all the emotional shifts. Same goes for Shide’s actor. And the chemistry? Off the charts.

The ending is open (season 2 continues it), but it works. My only complaint is the visuals, they’re kinda washed out. I’ve noticed this with a lot of Taiwanese dramas, even newer ones. Not sure why they can’t get better quality in that department.

Still, We Best Love is an easy and heartfelt watch with just the right amount of fluff. It’s simple, but it feels genuine.

The First and Probably Last Filipino GL That Was Aired In Local TV

The Rich Man’s Daughter is a Filipino telenovela (or lakorn-style drama, as some might say) that aired on local TV, but I watched all 65 episodes on YouTube since I don’t really watch TV anymore. It’s your typical Filipino drama with lots of twists and turns, but I still got hooked.

The story revolves around Jade, the only daughter of a super conservative and wealthy businessman. She’s engaged to a guy, but then she meets Althea, an openly lesbian, and that’s when things really start to get intense. The chemistry between Jade and Althea is undeniable. The kind of subtle tension that builds through glances and smiles, not physical touch (because, yeah, almost none of that here). Still, it’s enough to make you feel all the feels. And yes, they kissed in the end, but it got cut off so fast. 😭

One of the main sources of conflict was Jade’s father, who went to extreme lengths even violence just to break them apart. But in the end, he gave in and accepted their relationship. This show became pretty iconic because it’s actually the first and probably last GL drama that ever aired on Philippine TV.

There were quite a few filler scenes, and some of the episodes were dragging but I get it — it aired on national TV and ran for 65 episodes, so they probably had to stretch it a bit. The production quality and cinematography were excellent, and both lead actresses delivered amazing performances. Due to its success and the chemistry of Rhian Ramos and Glaiza De Castro, they will have an upcoming GL movie this year.

If you're into slow-burn romance with emotional tension and high drama, this one’s worth checking out, just don’t expect a lot of physical affection.
