I agree! Thought it was pretty amazing until the ending went off. the. rails. Still, quite an above-average show otherwise.

Surprised by how well the plot ended up working out! Pretty good for a little B-level show :)

Gao Si Cong has a crush on Lan Qian Yi since the first day, and ultimately gave her an expensive pair of shoes before she left for France. There are hints that she knows about his feelings and, in the beginning, ignored them and rejected every thing or help he tried to give her, bc she didn't want to have another workplace romance. But when they said goodbye, her face shows subtle disappointment that he didn't reveal his feelings; and, when she came back (earlier than scheduled too), the camera deliberately lingered to show she is wearing his expensive shoes back at work. I think this hints that she is now open to letting something happen between them eventually.

Their relationship WOULD be complicated too, because while he likes a lot her and admires her capabilities, he is very prideful. This prevents him from easily revealing any vulnerabilities and real feelings to her, and he also feels competitive against her career-wise. Even so, if the show ever have those 10-years-later special episodes, I wouldn't be surprised if these two shows up as a settled married couple with a kid xD

I love how the writers and actors managed to put this tiny but complex little relationship into the midst of all the work tumult and struggles. Makes the world seem so real..

There is a LITTLE bit of romance, lol. Obviously it's just a tiny speck of spice in the background and not really anything compared to the main workplace story, but...
