Native fan are waiting for eps 45 while international fan waiting for sub eps 28. I'm so sad. It would be better…
Learning Chinese is certainly hard. My parents are Chinese, so over the years I also became fluent, but it is very hard for people to learn it if they weren't exposed to it from a very young age. BUT, I'm sure you'll start to pick up some Chinese phrases as you watch more c-dramas. The best way to learn a language is to be exposed to it even if you don't understand it. :)
Reading the reviews on Douban, I seriously can't understand why people are insulting this amazing drama and actors. Oh well...guess they don't have good taste in dramas...
7.5 the score on Douban for L&R. A few days ago it was 7.7. Hmm...I wonder why the sudden drop.
Many popular dramas in China have surprisingly low scores, like Eternal Love (6.5), Eternal Love of Dream (6.8), Ashes of Love (7.7), Skate Into Love (7.1), The Untamed (7.7), and so many more that I'm too lazy to say. I'm fluent in Chinese, so I read many of the reviews on Douban of popular dramas that weren't five stars, and most people didn't rate the drama five stars because they had read the novel previous to watching the drama and felt like the drama wasn't as good, that it didn't portray the characters as well as it did in the novel or some part of the story wasn't as exciting, or that some details that were in the novel were left out in the drama, etc. Because most Chinese dramas were adapted from a popular novel, most Chinese watchers have read the book before, but the drama didn't entirely satisfy them. The low ratings are because fans of the novel had very high expectations of the upcoming drama after reading the novel which they enjoyed very much. But although many of these dramas have low ratings on Douban, it does now mean that the drama is not worthwhile to watch. In fact, they are all very popular and loved. So don't allow the Douban score of Love and Redemption or any other drama change your opinion on the drama because most people have read the novel before. :)
I'm always curious if she ever took a stand with what's happening in China's uyghur community (the abductions…
She hasn't because, well, it's the Chinese government, but Dilraba has shown her culture. She has talked about it, and has danced XinJiang Wu (Dance of Xinjiang) multiple times.
Cheng Yi is such an amazing and devoted actor! I watched one of the behind the scene clips, and they pulled the ropes so Cheng Yi slammed into a large rock and then fell on the ground! I know actors have to go through this a lot, but that must have been really painful...
I’m haven’t watched eps 29 and 30 yet, but in ep28, Si Ming told Teng She that Bai Zhi Dijun (Hao Chen) and Zhan Shen (Xuanji) liked each other, but to form a strong alliance with a kingdom, Dijun married the kingdom’s princess, which caused Zhan Shen to become colder everyday, and eventually kill the kingdom’s ruler, Hao Chen’s queen’s father, which caused the queen to tell Hao Chen to kill Zhan Shen, but he refused, as he still loved Zhan Shen, so the heavenly emperor declared that if Zhan Shen could undergo 10 mortal lives of love trials, she could become an immortal again. I hope that wasn’t confusing. :)
I'm on ep 4. How long do we have to put up with FL acting and sounding like a 12 year old??
It is a little annoying at first, but Fengjiu is just 30,000 years old, which is very young in the immortal world, and experiencing her first love, so she is very immature. But as the story progresses, she encounters many situations which helps her learn more about the outside world and mature. And her love story with Donghua is very sweet, and both of them are so devoted to the other. :)
lmaoo can anyone explain why most chinese dramas that i see will air yet
Most Chinese dramas do not announce their official airing date. I know, it's SUPER frustrating, and I've been waiting for quite a few cdramas to air for a long time.
