NOOO STOP, STOP EVERYTHING. Are you telling me that my favorite actress and favorite actor will have a drama together? Ok, no one tell me, I know I'm in a dream right now, even if my pinching hurts.
Is the story boring? Or it gets better? I'm on ep 14. I think I'm a bit lost in this drama, I don't know what…
Hmm...the first 12 episodes were character/setting introductions, and I knew that I had to get my tissues ready from the end of episode 13. The drama is following the novel so far, but not in the exact order. I'm reading the novel, and it's very good. So...if you like Xianxias, do stay for this. The story is very moving and beautiful, and the author is very talented! (I can't really say if the drama will get better for you because there are only 14 episodes released, but I love the novel's story.)
I would only partially agree and I've watched a lot of dramas over the past decade. Most long dramas are dragged…
That is true. Many of the fantastic Cdramas I have watched, though, have a lot of character introducing and other vital elements thrown into the first few episodes that are very important for one to have a great watching experience. Money, yes, but also a solid understanding of the story. Xianxias are long not just because of the money to be made.
couldn't have explain it better to all the people complaining about the slow start!it really do take experience…
I wouldn't call this complaining, but rather someone who isn't quite experienced with long costume Cdramas. These long dramas inevitably will have some boring parts.
I've noticed that many people are finding the first few eps boring so here are a few words of advice and insight from a person who has watched around 40 historical Cdramas ranging from 40-80 episodes long. The first few episodes of a historical are almost all dull and kind of boring, and this applies even more to Xianxia romance dramas. If you've watched Xianxias like Eternal Love (TMOPB), Ashes of Love, Love and Redemption, etc, you perhaps also thought that the first section or first few eps were boring. Xianxia dramas focus a lot on character introducing and world building in the first few episodes, which is why there doesn't seem to be a very intriguing plot as of now. In Chinese Wuxia, Xianxia, and costume dramas, there tends to be many characters, so many that you might not even be able to recall some of them when the time comes, so the first few episodes come in handy then. In Ancient Love Poetry, we got to know a lot about the characters' personalities and a little about what they want, fueling the drama and the story.
Perhaps it's because I've watched so many long Cdramas that I don't really seem to be bothered by the first few episodes. Give Ancient Love Poetry some time, and see if you like it and the Xianxia genre. :) Also, remember that the fast-forward button is one of your best friends on your Cdrama journey. ^-^
I just wanted to say regarding the negative reviews from "cnetz" this is actually a movement by haters navy especially…
Hater are going to hate. I mean, humans are like this. Human nature can't be prevented. I'm just going to enjoy this drama because I love it and ignore all the humans that have nothing better to do with their lives.
My mom barely knows any of the most famous Cdrama actresses nowadays, but she loves Zhou Dongyu. Dongyu is such an amazing actress, and I love her as well. ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
Oooh, a Cdrama historical article! We need to spread the love! Congrats on your first article, and it was a pleasant read! I remember watching The Legend of Concubine Zhen Huan with my family and we all loved it! I've heard of all these dramas on this list, and have watched a few, but haven't gotten to some others. Thanks for the article!

Haven't read the full story yet, but he becomes one of the three remaining high gods from the ancient Immortal…
Lmao I usually take into account everyone's feelings before spoiling something. This might be different in the drama, but their child is Hou Chi, Shang Gu's reincarnation,
Anyone who read the novel. what will be Gu Jun's story?
Haven't read the full story yet, but he becomes one of the three remaining high gods from the ancient Immortal Realm, who are also the most prestigious gods in the modern Immortal Realm. He has a child with Wu Huan, who later betrays him. If you would like to know who the child is, I can tell you, but I'm afraid that it might spoil too much.
Shen Zun- The most prestigious and respected gods. "High God" or "Noble God"Shang Jun- A well-known and powerful…
Oh, really? That's quite strange. I guess shen zun could also be translated into "Master" but "Noble Deity" is more accurate. There really is no set translation but "Master" is definitely not the most accurate translation.
I'm translating it into English: https://blizzardahmsworld.wordpress.com/ancient-god/?frame-nonce=f7264a7974
