This is one of those dramas where, in the beginning, you are not sure if it's gonna be good or not, but then you stayed all throughout and had the feeling of satisfaction. This is 100% a really good drama. The poster didn't really catch my attention and I'm not familiar with any of the characters, so I just thought it's not gonna be good. But the comments and reviews have been saying it otherwise, so I gave this a go. I liked it. I stayed for 40 episodes and did not skip a beat.
Sandra Ma and Bai Jing Ting were absolutely beautiful and gave life to the characters. Especially Sandra Ma, she didn't even have much make-up but she is still beautiful. Although I'm not a fan of her wardrobe choices, her character was portrayed as simple and down-to-earth.
It's a slow burn but they give you a very healthy relationship. But even if it's a slow burn, it doesn't really fall into your most common drama tropes.
OST was also good. I really like Accident (意外) by Leaf (叶炫清) and Chen Xueran (陈雪燃).
Just finished watching this drama. Time stamp is on my reply
Ep17: they get together Ep28: Xuanlin found out smtg so he gave MWQ the cold shoulder Ep32: they sort it all out/ someone important died Ep36: another one died a real heartbreaker but a happy ending
Any good samaritan who can please lay down the time stamp of this good drama. I'm already on episode 26, I know for sure I read somewhere they will break up and get back again. I just want to know what episode that is so I can prepare my heart. ☺️ Thank you!
I have to agree and disagree on this one. But you know what, we are all entitled to our own opinion and I'm giving you that. Great article for a good debate though!
Love O2O and YAMG are definitely different from each other. Yes, same author, gaming concept, the same male lead, but other than that I don't see many similarities, Love O2O focused on gaming and made the love story the second most important. What I loved about the drama when I first watched it was the graphics. Well, that was back in 2016. Compared to the recent E-sports dramas, back then, this was really amazing. Also, the fact that the main characters were the ones playing the actual game, made it cooler. In terms of acting, Yang Yang was really effective. He is really good-looking, and I would too scream, spazz, squeal too if I see the elusive Xiao Nai on my campus. As for Zheng Shuang, I would agree with you, her acting was really awkward. I can't tell how she is as an actress cause this is the only drama I watched from her. The kissings scenes were the worst. Not gonna lie, I believe Yang Yang did his best for those scenes but Zheng Shuang wasn't giving it.
For YAMG, I might be biased on this one, but I really love Reba. I've been a fan since Eternal Love and have been watching her dramas ever since. So I know how well she really acts. Maybe the reason why you don't like her "childish" acting was probably because of her voice. But let me tell you, she is really like that. Her character may not be as "mature" as Bei Wei Wei, but I like Reba more. Yang Yang on the other hand, What can I say, he is Yang Yang. The storyline, it's also way off from O2O. If Xiao Nai can upfront pursue the girl, Yutu is not. He has to weigh in a lot of things before accepting Jingjing. To be honest, Yang Yang's character here showed more growth than Xiao Nai. Yes, Xiao Nai has his own adversaries, but those are lighter than Yutu.
I like them both and I would recommend both. Both dramas are very light but depend on your mood. If you are into college drama, forced relationship but not harsh LOVE O2O is good. But if you are in the mood for a slow burn but have a satisfying result, YAMG is for you.
This is like addressing so many red flags in C-dramas especially for male leads. The first drama that I watched, it was Taiwanese, was back in the early 2000s when Meteor Garden came out. Back then, I was head over heels on Jerry Yan playing Dao Ming Si and I totally ignored the fact that he abused Shang Chai played by Barbie Hsu in one of their scenes. The mere fact that the show started with bullying was overshadowed by their good-looking faces, it didn't become a concern. The same goes with My MVP Valentine, At Dolphin Bay, even Devil Beside You, etc.
Although, in this day and age, there are quite a lot of dramas that are impressive and give utmost respect not only on FL but also on ML. One example, is You Are My Glory or Perfect and Casual, they are the ones that I can classify as mature and healthy relationships without force kissing or kabedon scenes.
I’ve been juggling between chinese drama and korean dramas lately, so I don’t get bored on the same language and story lines. So far i’m loving this and I don’t find it boring at all. I just want to ask, what episode are they going to be together? I’m currently on episode 6, usually the commonality of every 16episode kdrama, they get together betwen ep8-12. So, please tell me what episode should I look forward to for them to get together?
If an author has writer's block, a cdrama addict like me is currently on a drama slump. I am seriously having a hard time choosing what to watch coz I really feel like all the plots are being recycled over and over. You, my friend, just made it a little easy for me to choose what I should watch next. Although 60% of your list I've seen already, I'm down to see what the other 40% is all about. Thanks for this list!
I binge watch the whole drama and i must say I don't regret it. Thank for this article, although I read it after i finish watching it, this still put a smile on my face. For a hopeless romantic like me, this is so perfect. This is right above my alley, easy going, light hearted, less stressful drama. ☺️☺️
I love Miles Wei since My Amazing Boyfriend 2 and then I've seen a couple more after that. He is so charming and handsome. The way he delivers his lines is so soft-spoken almost like a sweet whisper.
Anyway, this drama has all the good feels. No heavy drama, in my opinion, it is pretty fast-paced. FML is pretty smart, love how she handles and holds herself. The supporting casts were really good too. I finished the whole drama in less than 2 days, which means I guarantee this drama is worth to binge.
The chemistry was not obvious right on the bat. It wasn't 100% boring. There were just unnecessary flashbacks and the story line is just basic. Nothing really serious. ML is okay, FML is cute and adorable not a weak one though.
This drama is not bad but it's also not that great. I have to skip a bunch of scenes of the 2nd lead and the best friends love story coz i find them unnecessary. In the beginning, i'm not digging the chemistry but later on it just worked out well. I love FML here, her character development is pretty good. I just wish they also add more on ML character development. Otherwise, if you want an easy going drama with less conflicts, and a strong FML this is your drama. ??
