I think Dan's actual punishment for saving Yeon Seo is having to love her and be with her for the rest of their lives. I'm sure we'll find out they have some kind of deeper connection as well.

After 60 episodes it hasn't been mentioned yet, he is still completely fine. It will probably end up as the last arc in the last 20ish episodes if they haven't just dropped it all together at this point.
