He became wayy too possessive of her and wouldn't let her go fight in the war, even though, she was perfectly capable of taking care of herself.
This was in the last chapter I think- she didn't want to have sex with him because she was tired I think (from all the making out they were doing from the nights before). And he still had sex with her.
I know this cuz I'd read the last few chapters hoping his character changes a bit. Nope, he was still the same.
Xiahou Dan transmigrated when he was a child in middle school. He met the FL when he'd already spent many years as the king.
The crown prince is his child. He was drugged and raped by the crown Princess and the empress dowager.
The novel has a HE. Xiahou Dan dies first and he goes back to when he was a child. He still has all his memories from his life as Xiahou Dan. He grows up and becomes a CEO and buys the game that pulled the FL into the story.
So technically, she went into the story bec of him. He also became a CEO bec that's how he'd introduced himself to her the first time they met.
Later when she dies in the story, she comes back to the metro where she was when she transmigrated. She later goes to his company and meets him. Turns out, the day before, he actually went to her apartment with flowers to wait for her to come back.
Final thoughts: They really did continue with the whole gender reversal trope till the end of the drama: they treated Neo's character exactly the same way, the so called "badass" FLs are treated in other dramas - one dimensional characters who seem to forget their ambitions after they meet the ML.
Neo's acting was great as usual, no notes. This was my first Nezha drama so i went in with no expectations. Honestly, she could've emoted a little better (a common complaint i have in most idol dramas).
The cinematography was great though. Loved seeing the tea plantations. And also enjoyed the short GK sessions at the end of each episode. I now know a bit more about Ming Dynasty.
Overall - 8.4 is a deserved rating.
PS: this drama was a battle between who looks prettier: Neo or Nezha. I choose Neo.
Thoughts till Ep 28 - I don't see any efforts from RSB's end on her relationship with LJL. He's doing the heavy lifting so far while she remains ambiguous to him.
I need to see more angst, yearning from RSB. Alas, I don't think we'll see any in the few eps left.
There's no ignoring the concubine allegations for LJL after today's "first night bath scene" 🤣🤣
I've been loving the gender role reversals so far. Another example is the widowed tea seller with a child being the lover of Yunxi and she just gave him some money and left lmaoo.
not everyone appreciates physical touch as a love language. sometimes it’s gestures/acts of service or gifts/allowances…
I get your point. But, not to sound rude, are you justifying the casting because, as long as there's no physical touch, it's okay for a minor to be paired with a much older guy?
My issue with this drama is that we lost a good enemies to lovers story because the plot seems great.
Nothing against AiMi and Neo, they're good actors but putting a minor up against an adult, that too in a romance drama seems like a huge disservice to the fans of this genre.
I mean what is a romance drama if there aren't any kisses or any form of physical intimacy. Even if I think about yearning, it seems weird that a 28 year old is pining after a 17 year old and vice versa. Doesn't matter what their ages are in the drama.
This has not been upto my expectations so far. Rebirth of female general is my favourite Qian She Ke novel and i had high expectations from the show , also considering that Ryan cheng usually doesn't disappoint. They've changed a lot of plot points from the novel, which is still okay, but they could've written the script better. The Double did a fantastic job of that. The female lead is just..... not doing it for me. Her acting falls flat in a lot of the emotion heavy scenes. Her fight scenes honestly could be better. Xiao Jue has been my biggest disappointment till now. Xiao Jue was supposed to be an unapproachable general who is calculative. The Xiao Jue in the drama is all about revenge. I'll probably continue to watch till my brain can't take it anymore. If this is how they're adapting novels, I really hope they don't adapt Malicious Empress 😭

Otherwise, the cinematography is amazing. Love the juxtaposition of diff colours on a snowy backdrop.
The author didn't mention anything about kids after they came back to the real world.
The drama may not follow the novel exactly.

#WomenInMaleDominatedFields indeed
Bec that is the point I was trying to make.
