7/29/2026: Man was I SO excited for this drama!! Main couple? Let us skip them for a moment. But THE SECOND COUPLE ?! PLEASE. I LOVE THEM. Bu Shu Lin and Cui Jin Bai forever!!! The first couple is so incredibly boring and awful. The princess just reject reject reject cold cold ice queen, whereas the guy is relentless in chasing her and I am not even sure why. But the second couple? A MASTERPIECE. I LOVE THEM. I NEED THEM. LOVE THAT THEY ARE FINALLY TOGETHER. She just told him she is carrying their baby. I am only watching it for them now. I don't give a damn about the main couple as it is already episode 27/36 and they STILL haven't gotten had any cute moments that I deemed as cute. So irritating. But anyways, I love the second couple. One of my favorite couples of all time. Love that she can stand her ground, fight, and love. So much chemistry and I love that she is strong, a fighter, a warrior, and he's a scholar. I love that they caught his expression when he finally sees her in women's clothing. I rewatched it just to watch their scenes. Episode 26 is my favorite! So would I recommend it? For the second couple, yes. Main leads? Nah. But I would love to know your thoughts!

When the main couple would come back on the screen, I feel like I dissociate immediately and want to fast forward. The emotional payoff for Bu Shu Lin and Cui Jin Bai was just so much better because I actually believed they loved each other. They had tension, trust, banter, sacrifice... everything. Meanwhile the main couple had me sitting there like "...are we supposed to root for this guys????" Anyways, enough smack talking. I am loving their edits.

Like I'm sorry but this drama had all the ingredients to be something good and somehow still managed to make me feel... nothing. Every episode I kept thinking okie guys it is gonna get good soon!!!!! and it just never really did for me. Such a shame because the visuals and colors were nice and that man being fine almost convinced me to keep believing in it. And his earrings? Ugh DAAAAAMMNNNNN
Can you believe I'm watching a MODERN C-drama right now?!?!?! Lol. And ugh ahhhh I know, I know, I knowwwwww I should be finishing the last few episodes of Twelve Letters, but I stumbled across this drama by accident! I saw a video of some Chinese guy speaking perfect English and that he has a drama and that was intriguing moment #1 but then I didn't think much of it since it was modern and I was like nahhhhh. BUT THEN! I found out that he was born here in the US, hence his English being great. But his life was heartbreaking from the very beginning. When his parents were going through a divorce, his father didn't want him, so after he was born, he was placed in an incubator and even named by a church pastor instead of his own parents. :( Then, when he got lost at just four years old, his parents didn't gaf, and he only saw his whack mom about three times a year. Then, at age seven, he was badly burned in a fire, leaving him with semi-permanent damage to his scalp OMG. BUT THEN his angelic older brother stepped in, took him in, and brought him to China!!! Thank god for his brother. His real-life story is already so tragic, and to make it even worse, the character he plays also has an incredibly heartbreaking backstory. UGH, my heart!! I had no choice but to support. And our girl a bao, you know her voice, deep and all, and it is just more funny being deep in the show too. Anyways, it was funny because there is a small sibling trope, but easy-ish watch. But damn, this girl really knows how to hurt him and I hate it!!!

Okay I finished this awhile back and I was annoyed because there was hella miscommunication when the FL could have just been straight with the ML and then she LEFT. And then there was a timeskip and then I lost interest after that but still begrudgingly finished it. Meh. Watch if you're bored, having nothing else, but I think you'd survive if you skip it. There were two songs that were pretty cute!

I will say though, I don't regret watching it because I did end up liking the male lead, so I'm a dan. I love listening to his funny instagram voice messages. He's a hoot. Please just pick better dramas!!!! I just wish the writing didn't rely so much on misunderstandings because it got frustrating after a while. Give these people one honest conversation and we'd save like six episodes. Also, Idk if I mentioned it but their kiss scene was steamy!!!! Sheesh!
BROOOOO why is our man Cheng Lei always going through something??!!?!? Getting caned in LOTG, headaches galore and time traveling in HDY, and now my man is CRIPPLED in this show. And it just hits different and a different level of sadness at least in other worlds he is battling against others and the situation, but in this one he is literally trapped in his own body is limpppppping around and unable to fight against any situations as he is imprisoned in his own body along with all the other issues. Extra sad and painful. Our man needs to be able to walk soooooonnnn, please!!
