yes it seems so, as they removed that role completely in S3, in S1 esoms role was obstructing the team's plan at crucial points and she was treating them like criminals, (like rules, justice) instead of actually catching those real criminals her role was spending time on chasing Taxi driver team, which had a severe criticism ...

I am yet to watch LTNS. seems like a unique plot... think its not that successful...

That's the main point indeed . She got hate for season 1, why would she do season 2? You can't criticize someone's performance {especially her role was against Driver and Team} then complain when they don't come back. She made her choice based on what she was dealing with - didn't work out, but that's how it goes.
