But then again, they were teenagers. I do believe she loved XCS but not to the point of giving up her dreams for him. While XCS & TXM were both ready to give up anything for their loved ones.

That beats me too why YGH still pursued her. I guess he had that glimpse of hopes, until the moment they lost their baby & the fact that HHL kept him in the dark about having a baby. That's when YGH seemed to lost that love & dismissed her altogether, not even fighting for her in front of his parents.....HHL has lost both men due to her own actions.

It's my first time, as far as I can remember, to watch a drama with male lead fell in love with second female lead for SO long. The drama has a good story line indeed. It just feels quite risky for the scriptwriter to start the drama in unconventional way. I mean I persevere (and skipped) because I really want to witness XCS with TXM.....:)
The scriptwriter really has to do a magnificent job to convince viewers that it's worth having the unconventional start, worth the wait, and an absolute must to show that XCS really love TXM more than HHL! I'm happy enough to witness how lovely XCS called "Xiao Mei" at any chances and how he always held her hands tightly.....:)

I think she's inconsiderate of other's feelings and always put her feeling first. That's why if you see her all along, she was so smug, cold & rude towards the men who fell for her, yet let them did things for her although she didn't like them back. Her attitude was always "I didn't ask for it. You wanted to do it". But she turned all sweet only to the one she liked, but did not know how to care for that person.
So I still don't get why XCS could love her at the start, with her kind of attitude. I guess her beauty won him over?

I think from the moment HHL fell for XCS when both of them compete to win her heart, from then on, YGH had subconsciously held a grudge to everything about XCS. That's why he made the decision to go to the army alone, while all this time, he had put it on hold for so long just to wait for XCS. But the moment he thought XCS had 'hurt' him through HHL, that's when he had a change of heart subconsciously.

I don't like this love triangle too and the fact that XCS went after HHL for as long as 20 episodes! But looking at it from the start, XCS had actually tried to stop his feeling towards HHL & let YGH pursued her. But it was YGH's suggestion to 'not give in' & said to compete fairly to get HHL's heart. Without this green light & knowing XCS's character (learn it along the drama), you'd know that XCS would not continue chasing after HHL without his best friend's consent.
