I actually enjoyed it but second half the plot not as tight as the first half… also I feel like some parts to…
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!! ON PLOT AND ENDING!!! BEWARE
Just some of the plot parts I feel were unanswered:
- did kanna really hated munju or was all that acting??? I feel like her hatred for munju went away too quick - so the mother did that only for power? Not for inheritance? if it’s not cos of the inheritance why did the mother wanted to keep junik son? - how and why did baek san Ho first approach munju at the church?? It cos of the job offer so he knows munju is in some sort of danger so he wants to protect her? Their romance felt a bit abruptly written though both their acting are top notch and no awkward scenes
The part that I meant about the ending being so abrupt:
like how did things de-escalate so fast with North Korea & the other kingdom, and why would they (the Kim hansang guy & the king) trust Seo munju to give her the code to de-escalate when I’m sure they had their own reasons for doing what they were doing in the first place?? (Aka building and buying the nuclear submarine?)
I actually enjoyed it but second half the plot not as tight as the first half… also I feel like some parts to the plot are still unanswered... also the “resolution” seems a bit too easy or abrupt, wish it has more struggles which would make it more realistic… But I would watch it again just to see Jun ji hyun and kang dong won together lol! Although yeah Seo munju and Jang junik was also a good looking pair! XD
I’ve just completed watching this. Was this drama like compressed from 50-60 episodes to 35 to meet the new regulation?? The pacing makes no sense, some parts are so slow and some too quick (like how da heck we got here?!). The script has its problems too, hardly any romantic development scenes between our supposed leads (Ren Jia Lun and Peng Xiao Ran) especially after the first few eps?? Are they really our leads lol?? The political plot and stuff are intriguing initially then it got kinda like nonsensical and then up to “wth” when things started to get out of control (aka last arc/du ting Xin arc), it became like a makjang drama where everything bad seems to be happening just for the sake of them suffering. Also felt like we are missing a lot of episodes in between cos it felt like we’re on super speed x100 on the last 4-5 episodes especially (hence my suspicion this drama is supposed to be 50-60 episodes long??). I actually feel the acting of the actors are not bad, and I know they could have done better with better script and better post-editing (where they cut scenes, my own guess). The last arc really ruined this series for me. While the first few episodes were like “wth is happening” (again I imagine it’s cos they cut a lot of scenes), the first arc where they first met at fenglai pavilion and stuff were actually decent. I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of my time watching this cos there are some parts I kinda enjoyed & binged through, but the last arc did leave a bitter taste in my mouth and I’m still sitting here wondering “wth just happened” lol.
I just finished this series! I watched the first few episodes months back but dropped it, but glad I picked it up again cos it got more interesting (and fl also matured and less whiny & childish lol). Wish we could have seen more depth & growth in fl character, like what we see in the later arc. The lead actress Bao Shang En is so pretty! Song Wei long is also so handsome! Seeing both as the main couple is a visual feast indeed lol! Kinda wish the series is longer then maybe we could have gotten even more depth in the main couple’s relationship growth and also all the political intrigues
He’s so handsome!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Saw him in Mine but he really caught my attention especially in Remarriage & Desires!! I love those scenes where you can feel his intense emotions sizzling underneath, from just his eyes!! Looking forward to more of your work!!
The 3 female leads: Lee Bo Young, Ok Ja Yeon and especially Kim Seo Hyung all looked amazing in this drama!!! Loveeee Kim Seo Hyung’s character Jung Seo Hyun’s fashion style those outfits are beautiful and cool and Kim Seo Hyung pulled them all very well!!!
Chen Kun in another drama??? Yasssss XD I just finished rewatching Rise of Phoenixes and my feels all over again!!!! That’s an amazing drama (despite its flaws) and I hope to see another great production!
I was so surprisingly pleased when I saw the news NiNi and Deng Lun had their first day of shoot for a new drama recently, I mean this is an unexpected pairing but I’m so excited!
Bad writing and development of characters and plot, there’s a lot of plot holes. It was not bad at first but it got worse and I decided to stop wasting my time further and dropped it after watching up to episode 15. I don’t understand the pretty high scoring here (7.6 is pretty high?). This is not a good example of a c-drama, I hope those new to c-dramas don’t take this drama as an example of a c-drama and try other titles, because I assure you there are Very good ones out there that are worth thetime even if it’s 50-60 episodes long which may seem intimidating at first!
Heartbroken... He’s one of my first Japanese actors and still is for the past 10 or so years.. Seeing his brilliant smile always gave me a sense of warmth.. I am sorry that you suffered behind those beautiful smiles. Thank you for your hard work. I pray that you find your peace, Haruma, Rest In Peace.
Seeing the cast here Yang Zi and Deng Lun as main leads are misleading and is giving me false hopes lol... Is this even confirmed because I dont remember seeing this from the latest news?
"...With the CGI and worldview design team from Ashes of Love and costume design by Huang Wei (Tribes and Empires, Ever Night).." Wow, just this is enough to make it on my Plan to Watch list!!
