What a hidden gem! It’s quite slow-paced, but as an evening drama to relax and unwind with I find it a perfect choice.
Disclaimer: I’m halfway into this series at time of writing- but what I enjoy most is how natural and well-written the main characters are. Personality-wise, it might seem like a trope at first (a likely neurodivergent student and an upstanding cop) but where this drama truly succeeds is making them feel human. They’re not childish and not treated as such, but they have their fun moments! Chia Kai can be socially awkward, but he’s not stupid- and he stands up for what he believes is right. Ta Wei may look rigid and a tad emotionless on first glance, but his eyes hold a lot of emotion (and he can be a scaredy cat when it comes to bugs haha!). I also enjoy Chao Nan as a lighthearted, but loyal, comic relief.
The plotlines and cases are simple, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing here.
