Ugh I just re-watched the last 7 minutes and suddenly it's all coming back to me. This was one of my favourites…
I just came here to post "I won't ever re-watch the entire thing but if I ever need a damn good cry I'll re-watch the last 10-15min of the final episode." and then realised I already wrote the above comment 3yrs ago. LOL.

10000% recommend this drama! I've never loved a drama so much I literally re-watched it 6x in a row. I can basically watch it without subs and still understand most of it now hahahaha oh boy.

But honestly this drama is a total package: the casting was perfect, the OST is so beautiful (it's also the first time in my 20yr drama-watching career that I've actually loved a drama and OST so much I went out and purchased the OST), the humour was on point and the plot was incredibly well-rounded. The entire team did a phenomenal job on TTON and you can tell that it was a labour of love for everyone involved.

The second half does get a little darker, but it is interspersed with light-hearted humour wherever possible. I would recommend watching the BTS making scenes that KBS have uploaded on YouTube - that's another romcom in its own right - to help lighten your mood while watching. There are also a bunch of hidden nuggets for viewers to find to show subtle changes in character closeness (i.e. Dongjoo's hair, the candle light at night, the door lock... won't say more or it could become a spoiler). It's also really satisfying to see certain loving actions done by one character in previous episodes are then reflected by the other character (a kiss on the hand, for example). I also love that this drama uses typical drama tropes in a very a-typical way, and then turn some drama tropes on its head entirely. And the badass females make me feel so empowered.

Also, can I just say: those kisses!! PHEW. Did someone turn on the heating in here or what!? I'm sweating *fans self*.

It's also the best drama I've seen for character development for all characters, as well as having the most perfect ending episode I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It's just so damn wholesome I cried with joy!

Okay I can sing this drama's praises forever but seriously just go watch it haha.
P.S. Someone asked in another comment: yes! It won a lot of awards!
Kang Tae-Oh won Best Newcomer Actor
Kim Sohyun won Excellence Award Actress
Jang Dongyoon won Excellence Award Actor
Kim Sohyun and Jang Dongyoon won Best Couple Award (saw that coming! And oH MY GOSH I forgot to mention the chemistry. HOT DAMN THAT CHEMISTRY IS BOMB. *fans self.* I jumped on the DongJeon ship and can't get off...)
Park Dayeon won Best Child Actress award (so well deserved!)

This is also the first time KSH literally sobbed her eyes out at the closing party because she didn't want it to be over, almost cried in accepting an award because it meant so much to her, and, as far as I'm aware, first time she's ever said she really, really, really wanted the Best Couple Award. Like, every interview she had she said she wanted that award. So if you're a KSH fan, it's a must watch.

K I'm done now go watch it bye!

The video was really unnecessary. I basically paused it and fast forwarded to the end of each sentence. This type of news would have been far easier to absorb in written format as an article rather than text appearing letter by letter over photos with zero video footage, and for that reason I'm put off subscribing to MDL on YouTube. Also, more info on the upcoming drama (synopsis, maybe?) would have been really helpful - or just say "more info yet to be released".

That said, tentatively looking forward to it. Tho WWWSK didn't exactly grip me in its production, I am a fan of a Master's Sun and Hotel Del Luna. I reaaaally don't like ghostly aspects though, can it be a non-ghost one please??
On The Tale of Nokdu Dec 5, 2019
This drama has just shot up to my favourite of all time. In fact, I loved it so much I re-watched it twice back-to-back, which I have never done with a drama before. I still find myself looking up info on Sohyun and JDY daily (I've been a KSH fan for a while, but JDY was def new to me and just seeing them in their making vids made my heart so happy I fell for them both). It makes me so happy to see KSH pull silly faces and laugh so much she literally falls over at one point. I think this is probs her best drama to date and I'm glad she agrees. I love her interactions with JDY and it was their chemistry as Nokdu and Dongjoo that made me curious about them in the first place. I don't think I've seen such strong chemistry in a long, long time!

In terms of the story, I actually adore Nokdu and Dongjoo as characters. In fact, I love how all the characters are multi-dimensional. The Muweol widows and all the other badass women in this drama fill me with joy. I love that they aren't damsels in distress but are actually the ones who are relied upon and called upon for some serious help and damage. It's just so refreshing to see a drama that cares so much about all of its characters.

My hope is that they'll have a lot more interviews since this is going to air in Japan. And fingers crossed for a couple photoshoot between KSH and JDY! My fangirl heart ships the two so badly (dude have you ever seen KSH so joyful in filming kiss scenes and tease her co-star that 'dang they cut that kiss off so abruptly' with her arms still wrapped around him after they cut? I actually went and watched a bunch of her filming from other dramas and am pretty sure this was a first!) Not sure if that's just because she's become an adult now but her kiss scenes have definitely upped a notch (that said, I watched Love Alarm BTS as well and she did not act in that way with her costars there either...) Argh I wish they would continue their love story irl so I don't have to let go of Nokdu and Dongjoo yet. Literally wondering if I should just re-watch a third time because I can't let them go yet.

Sadly I don't want a S2 because I feel like the ending was perfect, but hey if they want to do an even longer Epilogue or a S2 with other challenges I am allllll for it.

Does anyone know if the Blu-ray will have an international version with subs for non-Korean speaking fans? If so, please send me the link because ohmygosh I want to give them my money!!!!!!!!!!

that ending is absolutely absurd I mean an angel killing a human? even if that human was bad whatsoever angels…
Hi if you're referring to the Christian God I would recommend viewing this drama without that lens. However, if you think that it is absurd for an angel to kill humans please check out the destroyer angel in 2 Samuel 24:15, 2 Kings 19:35, and of course the most famous case being in Exodus 12.

First comment on MDL! Have to add another positive comment because it seems like there are more negative ones and I love this show too much to remain silent. So far it's turning out to be my favourite drama of 2019. There's a delicate balance of comedy and angst, light and darkness, love and jealousy all interwoven within the angels/deity fantasy genre. It's fast paced (for the most part), the plot has been well written and thought-out, it's visually stunning, the OST sounds beautiful, the directing is great and the actors are doing an amazing job.

What I love the most, though, is that our main lead Yeon Seo is so strong yet vulnerable, she's persistent, she's diligent, she's real - she'll get hurt and she'll cry. Then she'll dust herself off and get back up again - she's an absolute badass. (Ok I'm female so I may be a liiiittle biased.) And she and Dan absolutely adore each other - their chemistry is off the charts I even go out of my way to binge their BTS scenes. That's more than enough for me to watch and re-watch. Also I never considered Shin Hye Sun an amazing actress but thanks to this show I'm now officially a huge Shin Hye Sun fan.

To be fair, I read the recaps of the first couple of eps and they sounded really dark so I actually started watching from episode 3 (based on their ep numbers - otherwise it's ep 2).

Either way would 100% recommend watching.

But will the ending break my heart....? That is the question
Based on the most recent eps, I actually suspect that it'll be a happy ending! ...For our leads, anyway.

My theory is that it'll be a similar scenario for Yeon Seo and Dan as with Kang Woo and his previous wife when she died for him, except this time, when Kang Woo realises that Yeon Seo would give up her life for Dan, he will take the bullet for Yeon Seo since he loves her. Thus, Kang Woo is finally able to 'die' (he couldn't through human methods, but can and will die through an angel's bullet). Thus, since someone (a human) took the bullet meant for Dan, Dan becomes a human and can live with Yeon Seo, just like Kang Woo became a human when a human took the bullet for him before.

Ultimate sacrifice can allow an angel to become a human, I'm guessing? And I guess this would be their God's "purpose" in sending Dan into the picture, as well as His way of having mercy on them all.

I could be completely wrong... but this is what I'm hoping as a happy ending at least!!

Ugh I just re-watched the last 7 minutes and suddenly it's all coming back to me. This was one of my favourites as a teen but definitely not one I can re-watch without mental preparation and buckets of ice cream and tissues. And a happy show immediately after to balance out the emotions.
