im comfortably binge-watching this (at around ep 11 now) and also reading about the response this drama got in China (very fascinating). i don’t have such strong feelings about this drama for sure, but the premise and early episodes made me want a modern series adaptation of Jane Austen's Persuasion so badly 😭 it doesn't help that i fell in love with this drama's musical score from the get go...seriously the gorgeous OST might push me through all 40 eps at this point....

i keep thinking about that billboard hack/video stream on Lin Xi's bday and wished that it had been something less intense or unnecessarily dramatic. like imagine if Zheng Han still hacked it, perhaps to make his presence felt to her because he wasn't invited to the party after all, but instead of a love confession, idk, he made like a doraemon happy birthday sign or whatever. and Lin Xi would know exactly where and who it came from and it would be this cute little secret message between just the two of them. it would reinforce her feelings for him and he would only do this kind of gesture to make her smile instead of it being about "the chase"? i clearly have too many thoughts about this don't mind my last brain cell talking.
