SO crazy cause I felt exactly the same way Chan did when I saw her come through the airport doors. I said "Uh oh" at the same time he says "This is bad" 😭 Seonu Chan you and I need to form a support group...

I love this show!

on episode 22 and i’m moving too slow because i don’t want to reach the conflict hahah how many episodes does…
lmao same. it took me so long to get to 16 because i got spoiled about a scene and i thought it would hurt to watch but i actually really loved those episodes! they built up the reason for this main couple conflict well IMO. now i just have to get through their next conflict and hoping i end up liking that execution too. this drama gets more precious to me the more i watch (and i'm prolonging my time with it so i don't say goodbye too soon 😭)

update episode 6: I'm taking my sweet time with this one because I want to savor it! These early episodes gave me so. much. romcom excellence my cheeks hurt from smiling while I watch! The leads are such sophisticated actors I don't know how else to describe them. They are so expressive and also nuanced and best of all, they are SO FUN and FUNNY together! His private smiles, her spunk, their banter, the way they have many points of connection...
They are perfect, I am absolutely obsessed.
I'm already planning to watch the leads' other works after this too. They really have me questioning what I've been doing not knowing about them all this time!!

I LOVE when I get great surprises! like when I'm enjoying the first episode of a new show and having a good feeling about it and then bam, Shi Shi plays on the soundtrack. I didn't even know she was gonna be featured here and now I'm 100% sold.
Female lead resembles Lee Sungkyung sometimes and it just makes me happy for some reason (I've been in a drama slump forever)

I was starting to worry that this specific university lab setting was boring me and make me check out of the show but they pulled me back in this episode! Zhihua waiting to tell Xuejiao until the last minute worried me for a second I thought we'd get a bad fight but it gave me a bit of tension enough to pay close attention again! Her pretending to scold him in front of the lawyer and then teaching him how to properly slack off later (but dodging his suspicions about how she knows so well about it LMAO)

Excited to see XJ kick ass again I loved the high school episodes because we followed her journey. Though I see what the drama has done here with making the main couple work on the same startup so they can maximize their joint slay πŸ˜‚ I just love Xuejiao so much so I tend to want more of her.

i should not have started this while airing. this is the first time I've done this with a cdrama and it's literally killing me (I promised after like episode 10 not to wait up for any more new episodes and yet here I am like clockwork). this would have been the easiest cutest binge in a few weeks 😭

Wataru surely became a beast when he beat the manager. And he done it after sliding elegantly through the window.…
I paid no attention to what was going on in Yuto's cafe for that scene because I was busy freaking out about Wataru babysitting Ms. Sumiyoshi's kid 😭

I LOVED this with all my heart. It's been a while since I clicked so well with a drama on many, if not all levels. I'm sure I'll be in this comment section all week reading thoughts and reactions! ahhhh πŸ₯°

Just want to give a shout-out to the writer and the team for the tightly-written script and screenplay because…
Yeah this is it. This is why I've become extra attached to the main couple. The show does an excellent job of showing (not telling) us why and how these two people fit together. I'm proud to say I caught all these details on first watch, except the last one about the rain! I don't think it's a coincidence knowing how the writer works by now so thanks for laying them all out like this for Misa/Wataru enjoyers to see ☺️
To add to your list, I also really love the detail in Wataru's flashback where he orders the Hojicha set. Just tea and a snack. As a kid he was mindful of their frugal life with just him and mom. But as an adult who'd been adopted into a rich family, he still prefers to order a simple Hojicha set. For him and Misa, this simple thing is tied to the memory of their loving single parents (the parallel with Wataru/Misa's dad touring the campus and Misa/Wataru doing the same thing too 😭). Which reminds me that I absolutely love that they made Wataru's background the way it is in this show. He wasn't born into privilege. He remembers thrifting his clothes with mom when he and Misa thrift for her "new" clothes. He and Misa almost have the same introverted temperament, and they both enjoy "old-fashioned" things. I feel like him not being fully chaebol softens the power imbalance between them being employee vs. grandson of the company owner doesn't it? because now we have more possibilities for their future. One that perhaps will not tangle them up with the company/the grandfather's potential demands. Wataru could and should live a life he truly wants, and because he's not blood-related to the dad and grandfather, he can still walk away from those obligations! Obviously he would not cut all ties with them because Miku is still his sister. But I'd love an ending where he gets to be a nerdy researcher for life.

I think Wataru committed suicide in his first life when he drove off the bridge (I hate this but it's in the source…
In the kdrama (SPOILER!!!) iirc, Jiwon kinda just accepts Jihyuk being from the future too without asking how right? he had to reveal in the last few episodes that he died and that's how he went back in time.

I wonder why Wataru didn't do the same thing here. I suppose if his plan is to take himself out so Misa wouldn't sacrifice herself first, then an abrupt goodbye where he's just a jerk is better than validating Misa's perception and joy of meeting him in their second life, only to break her heart by leaving her permanently.

So I fear you may be spot on here! If Wataru were doing anything other than sacrificing himself, he wouldn't destroy her hope now.

I'm so heartbroken with and for both of them 😭

I'm losing my mind so bear with me (or ignore!) as I try to make sense of things here.

What Wataru's been up to (that we know of) since time travel:

- He shields Misa from the boiling kettle
- He tries to give her advice on throwing garbage people out of her life
- He doesn't shy away from any chance of spending time with her
- He explicitly tells her to use him or ask him for help with anything
- He goes to her reunion to comfort her (umbrella) and even encouraged her to go to the reunion in the first place
- When it becomes clear to him that she has a concrete plan to cut ties with Tomoya/Reina, he keeps her in focus but he lets her execute her plan on her own.
- He deals with the Manager/Reina/Miku incident himself
- The medical exam "gift" for Misa
- He finds a way to keep her close and she moves to his building
- He starts to relax a bit more concerning Misa's fate since her plan worked, so he gets busier working on the company's future with Covid.
- I think this distracted him enough that he missed the complications in Misa's change of fate (could he have caught this early if he wasn't so busy juggling so much? who knows)

I will say, it's...interesting that he's allowed himself to get closer to Misa, but he stays cautious with her. There's the obvious example of hiding the truth about his time travel from her for this long! but also whenever Misa opens up to him was a chance for him to tell her everything that connects them (recognizing her from University, meeting her dad, Kamekichi) but he only doles out the info when he really cannot hide it anymore. Misa also initiates the kiss at Christmas and the holding hands at sunrise. I also found the handshake-turned-fist bump exchange back at the bar in episode 6 endearing at first but now I'm curious! He also denies or downplays their relationship stage when asked by Miku and Yuto. I don't think he was being in denial there. I could sense it was more like he was being cautious (again). We also cannot forget when Yuto asked about his feelings for Misa and Wataru replies he has something(s) to take care of? and now he goes to Yuto first, I suspect to continue that same conversation with him before leaving.

Going to Toyama might have been last on his to do list before but now with Misa's confession making him panic-reject/deny/gaslight her, he has to go now. There's a 99% chance he's doing the self-sacrifice thing, but I sincerely hope something quickly makes him realize he's wrong (hello Misa's dad, you're gonna have to knock this idiot in the head right now and steer him right back to Misa again so you can rest back in peace!)

The 1% chance is for the writer to do something completely unexpected and better! but I'm not placing my bets here so I don't get disappointed. I love this show and I want to give it as much allowance to do its best as an adaptation that has to compromise with a lot (source material and the constraints of the original story, studio executive demands, the time crunch of 10 episodes and many more I'm sure).
Okay, back to losing my mind 😁

I like that in exchange for this advantage that our leads got (time travel), we also get a worthy opponent in Reina who is just so twisted! Her backstory was kinda brutal and now that she's gone fully unhinged I don't know what kind of end I want to see for her. Getting killed or going to jail would seem too simple. Maybe whatever she's scheming now will backfire bad enough that she ends up like her mom? Or maybe she and the time travel gods can fight it out (she seems to resist their effects well) and somehow she ends up in the future, miserable and unable to trace back how she got there 🀑
idk these two episodes stressed me out man πŸ€•

I'm wondering if they are going to leave the ex-fiancΓ©e storyline completely out. Only 2 episodes left. We better…
wouldn't it be great if everything resolves in 9 so 10 is just pure bliss 😭 this version seems to cherish Misa/Wataru's peace and happiness. We've gotten so many beautiful long moments with them so I would love it if they prioritized that in the end

Will there be an ex-fiancee who gets thrown in the mix.....with only 4 episodes to go.
I was rewatching some parts and noticed during a dinner scene (Episode 4) between Wataru and Miku that she points out her brother's luck of meeting Misa at work again after liking her in university...and she also mentions that their grandfather is "pressuring" Wataru but he's not giving in because he might still meet Misa again. This could be a throwaway reference to some arranged match for Wataru that he keeps rejecting and they'll leave it at that, or it could be foreshadowing for an actual character to show up later (more like soon cause as you said we only got 4 more to go how much more can they fit in this 😭). I vote for the throwaway reference 🀞

Title Marry My Husband: Japan Spoiler
If the theory is correct that Wataru drives off that bridge himself and not from an accident or something, I was just thinking about how and why that could be the choice here and if we look at 2025 Wataru: his work at the company has burdened him and brought him great pain (shutting down his mom's beloved restaurant), I assume the company is slowly going down too after investing so much in the 2020 Olympics that didn't work out, and on top of that he finds out Misa got cancer AND THEN he witnesses her literally fall to her death. like what a day! So he goes to her funeral where it's revealed Misa had been murdered and no one there truly cared for her. So he takes her ashes to her hometown. We could also say his relationship with his sister and dad might have been strained from all the company issues (him regretting not believing Miku during the ingredient switch-up mess the first time, for example. It could have started there and then got worse).
So...if Wataru did make such a drastic choice to end his life in 2025, would it be such a reach to say that him going back 10 years and trying his best to change things leading to a better/happier Wataru who would not be driven to suicide? Is that a good enough "substitute"? Do we have to have someone die by suicide? I hope not.
On Marry My Husband: Japan Jul 12, 2025
Wataru's future scenario he dreamed for himself with Misa brought me back to Tom Hanks in the movie You've Got Mail (millennial alert!) where he also imagines a "what if" scenario with Meg Ryan's character and he goes: "I would have asked for your number, and I wouldn't have been able to wait twenty-four hours before calling you and saying, "Hey, how about... oh, how about some coffee or, you know, drinks or dinner or a movie... for as long as we both shall live?"

😭 Wataru's whole monologue was so moving to me I still haven't recovered. Wataru/Misa are climbing up my OTP list fast. There's just something so devastating about them idk...Is it that they're both so earnest? and they've been absolutely adorable so far? I just love them.

Just finished this. I liked it a lot but Zhang Xincheng's Ziquo stole my heart completely my god. In my mind, he's now living through the events of the drama Hidden Love (with little orange) and is on his way to a complete happily ever after πŸ˜
