In ep 21 without Gao Liang, Gu Yi Ye would maybe never reconcile (or so quickly) with Jiang Nan Zheng. Personally, my heart hurts for Gao Liang as he has always kind of guided Gu Yi Ye and Jiang Nan Zheng, he put away his own feelings for her and helped the two of them. I agree with what Gao Liang said about him being the torch for them two.
I think so many people have overlooked Gao Liang's personality, although he might seem annoying sometimes but truly he treats everyone very well, I would say that in times of need he is a loyal friend/comrade. In my opinion, he is always the person who adjusts the atmosphere.
