Uh that’s a double standard. How can u actively criticize something then get defensive when someone else criticizes your criticism. Especially when it’s done in the exact same format. Anyone can have an opinion on a subject but to make an opinion when u lacked information is unfair. This is a comment section meant for discussion. First the sales for the series are plummeting not the book. Although Bua handles the publishing she is still partnered with the tv station as mentioned in the show. The more viewers for the show means more money. And yes it happens quickly, social media can blowup over night so quickly especially if it’s a public show or interesting. A lot of times when people find out the actor is dating the magic in the mystery is gone. It’s not right but many people actually are toxic enough to do that. Also the show literally came out an episode or two before. If there is drama in the very beginning it will gradually decline slowly and that is what they are afraid of.
Second I somewhat agree because it shouldn’t be such a big deal. The biggest problem is the fact that the company has drama to begin with and a company liable to drama is not trust worthy.
Third no one “knew,” there were only one or two photos surfaced. At most it’s speculation but the photo that just surfaced seems far too chummy to be friends, especially with Aey throwing gas in the fire. The company didn’t do anything Bc tum and hin were suppose to do their job, which although I like them they didn’t. All tum did was slap on the wrist and hin wrote his novel. It didn’t require and head company involvement Bc it wasn’t a big deal. They have other projects. For aey it was already mentioned that they want to focus on fixing not blaming Bc that would do nothing in their meeting.
4th it’s literaly a different culture because America is debatably more progressive in media.
5th I completely agree this is a company misdeed. I’m not sure about legalities but unless they force nubsib to not have a relationship I am pretty sure it will get out regardless. But that is how conflict starts.
6th I honestly don’t know where that came from either. I don’t pay too much attention to that couple so it might have been mentioned earlier in the show.
7th aye is known as impulsive based on every stupid thing he has done. His character isnself serving or at least does not think about others. He is honestly just a messy character, but there are many people like that sadly.
8th I believe they do that in the heat of the moment it is also very relatable and more interesting. it is very easy to say that as a viewer Bc u are calm and thinking. And even if you do that personally, it shouldn’t be expected but a standard for healthy relationships. That’s why problems are usually solved after everyone is cooled down, not when chaos starts.
Imma be honest I think you did not pay attention too much Bc it was literally mentioned why for ur confusion. Whether it’s enough for you is ur problem.
I honestly think that gene made the right call. Maybe not breaking up. If your relationship won’t last apart for 4 months than that’s a problem. And they could have still stayed together but ina more distant or private relationship. I know it’s the companies fault but nubsib is being irresponsible. yes it wasn’t in the contract but that only applies to any punishments the company can deal him. There are still social and career problems apart from the contract.
If he quit he would literally be known as the unprofessional actor who would quit immediately Bc of drama or for selfish reasons. Yes it’s for love (and honestly I’d love that) but it will be seen by anyone who would hire him. no one wants to hire an employee with baggage unless they can turn it into a social statement. It is extremely logical what gene did. Possibly ur entire career over 4 months of a private relationship. It may not be some grand decree of love like nubsib, but it is best for them in the long term.
This series gets more disappointing as it proceeds. I still think that episode 1 is miles better than the proceeding…
The whole point of the first episode is to portray as a typical bl drama but as it’s progresses it becomes more realistic. They intentionally made the first episode basis, maybe you are just looking for different things in bl like more lighthearted and not as serious, which is totally fine , I want that sometimes too. I recommend “fish upon a sky” or anything within the “together with me” series.
I think the show gets better because it actually talks about how toxic bl culture is and coming out while still being very adorable and enjoyable. It talks about sexual harassment and how cheap the business is on their writers. Not only that, the characters feel like real people because they respond to situations without a cheesy mindset like not noticing a guy that is throwing himself on you is flirting with you and that a parents disapproval is more than homophobia sometimes.
I’m pretty sure he asked and not forced. Which is much better than bitterly being upset because you’re boyfriend…
And yes I understand that you said “control” by “.setting rules” instead of force but it’s hardly controlling and my main point is that it’s asking for consideration, which is what most relationships should do Bc not every relationship have perfect compatibility for alone time and couple time. I am not trying to discourage your “wish” Bc alone time and free time is important and you may value that more. I just think it would be very out of character for gene Bc he is such a nice guy and he cares about his relationships deeply.

I’m pretty sure he asked and not forced. Which is much better than bitterly being upset because you’re boyfriend didn’t want to spend their first time at the beach as a couple together. They were both excited and if gene goes first he would use up his energy or excitement before nubsib gets there. Maybe you do not share the same sentiment about first times and same energies. But clearly gene understands that and is willing to wait for the chance to spend time instead of being impatient.
Everything nubsib did here is within the lines of communication and consent. The reason we don’t usual see gene fight back Bc it’s ALWAYS gene’s choice and nubsib makes sure of that. If he feels uncomfortable gene voices it. Nubsib almost always ask if he’s okay, hurt, or uncomfortable that is purposely done.
Although nubsib does ask for a few controversial stuff I believe it’s more for the sentiment than literally forcing him . He would never force gene to do something, he would only influence. His whole character is about consent.
