Your explanation gives me light, I also thought Li Chen Zhou can't be the main antagonist (shown in trailer) and trailer had Qui Shui saying he shouldn't have trusted Lui Sui feng? So there should be something / someone else in behind the scenes controlling everything.Qui Shui had a restart not reset but in trailer there was some thing Qui Shui finds which gives him hint of another writer (reset written not sure).

I still like him in supporting roles tho. I don't know why? Lol. I think Qui Shui has that token. And if LSF didn't do those things some of Power gang would have done that (for token)
