The age gap is to stay true to the webtoon cause his character is supposed to be younger than her.

Review Gogh, the Starry Night
I agree. Kim Young Kwang made me root for Kang Tae Ho even more than the female lead. I didn’t like even until the last episode she kept giving her ex-boyfriend room to interfere.
