I took my mom to the Garden of Morning Calm when she came to visit me here this past summer. It was definitely one of her favorite spots in Korea! If anyone goes, I'd recommend just taking a cab from the train station---much less hassle than waiting for the buses.
Haha, I can imagine the clothes size thing happening quite often in Korea though. Here, a lot of the clothes people buy in small shops or subway mall areas are free size, so most of the clothing is one size fits all. And since a lot of Korean girls are more or less the same size, you can just buy anything and it'd fit decently!
The time and effort they put into the subs really made a difference to my subbed viewing experience. Now that my Korean has gotten better and I don't have to rely on the subs as much, I see that the subs produced through community subbing is riddled with mistakes and odd translation choices. Or just gaps where lines weren't subbed at all. Sometimes it's worth waiting for better quality products, but then again I'm also guilty of expecting my dramas subbed the day after it airs. >.< Thanks for the years of work and dedication. It was all greatly appreciated.
COUPLE OUTFITS, NOOOOOO! Don't be that couple in real life if you're past high school age! (T T) Actually, I always wondered what couples that break up do with their couple outfits and rings... Yes, I know. I'm such a romantic.
Choi Young Do and Cha Eun Sang as the couple that never was and should have been? MDL community, you're making me rip my brain in half from trying to understand how that option won. I still like you though, MDL.^^

Hey! I'm so sorry---my notifications thing is weird, and I just noticed your comment (I also don't check my own profile that often >.<.) I've been doing really well. A little too busy to watch dramas as often as I wish, but it's a good kind of busy! Plus, my students like to fill me in on what I've missed drama-wise, although they haven't yet learned the danger of spoilers. How are things on your end??

Haha, thanks for the kudos and for reading my blog!
There are actually two main reasons why I prefer to date Korean guys over foreigners. First is that I'm really passive, so I don't approach guys I think are attractive. Korean men are more likely to come up to me, which means I'm more likely to go on dates with them. I've had two foreign guys approach me. One I went on a few dates with before it fizzled out; the second I was not into at all and ignored his calls and messages. The second reason is that dating foreign men kind of scares me. If I go on a date with a Korean guy and it fails, I can blame it on so many things: language and cultural barriers, etc. If a date fails with a foreign guy, I really have only myself to blame, and I'm the type to blame myself hardcore. Basically I'm more scared of being rejected by foreign men than by Korean men. Kind of pathetic, right?
Seongbuk-dong is not located in Gangnam; it's in Seongbuk-gu, which is a district north of the river. But, yeah,…
No problem! I live in Seongbuk-gu, so I've been to Seongbuk-dong a few times. Had to represent for my adopted district! Haha, good job with the article!

You think the fashion is crazy until you go to Seoul and realize "Holy Popsicle! People actually wear this stuff to shop at the supermarket!" Keep your guard up when it comes to Korean fashion lest you become what you cringe at most~ haha!

Hehehe, sometimes I think that going to a liberal arts college has rendered me incapable of fitting into the real world. It's good to know that I'm making sense to someone! ;)

Hahahaha, I was totally distracted from the hotness gyrating on the dance floor when ZE:A's Kwanghee appeared from 0:44-0:48. I think he's more of a fan-girl than I am. XD

Hey---thanks for the link to the Miss Ripley sub. Looking forward to watching it! ^_^
After The Greatest Love, Romance Town is definitely my second favorite drama of this current crop. I don't think it's going to be a ratings hit, but if the story stays solid, I think this could be a sleeper hit.
Sure! If you liked Paradise Kiss, then definitely check out NANA---they're both by the same mangaka, Ai Yazawa. And try: Honey and Clover, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Higashi no Eden, Michiko to Hatchin, Kuragehime. Josei is a bit of a mixed bag, but it's definitely my favorite genre of anime!
