No, Aurora. what is beautiful to your eyes and ears is not necessarily beautiful to someone else’s. That doesn’t mean that you’re wrong and they’re right or that they're right and you’re wrong. It doesn’t mean they’re close minded, unless they are actively trying to deprive YOU from experiencing what you wish to explore (which I have not seen anyone attempt to do in this forum ). It just means it takes all kinds of people and all kinds of likes and dislikes to make up a world. And you know what? That’s what makes life interesting! You are free to explore and enjoy whatever cultural realm you wish, but please allow others to do the same. It is not a regrettable loss to you or to anyone if someone decides same sex romance is just not something they wish to explore.

If someone says they won't watch historical dramas, no one says anything. If someone says they won’t watch BL, they get several responses from people calling them "homophobes" and "haters." Why? Are they not allowed to have their own preferences? By responding in a negative way, you are invalidating their personal views and behaving as though there is something wrong with them because they don't like BL dramas. People have the right to watch what they like. I haven’t seen one single comment from anyone disparaging LGBTQ in anyway whatsoever. All anyone has said is that they will not watch Ok Taecyeon in a BL role. That's THEIR prerogative! Some people just don’t enjoy watching same-sex romance dramas, and that's OK. There's no need for defense or negative criticism as long as they're just expressing the kind of drama they prefer to watch their favorite actor in.

Neither will I, and I resent being called toxic or a homophobe simply because I have no interest in gay romance. I won't call anyone names or force them to share my views, yet I'm being called a hater? How does that make any sense? Have we somehow lost the right to our own personal taste in dramas? We’re not discussing political ideology here. We're just talking about Ok Taecyeon taking on a role in a series that some of us think we will enjoy and some of us think we won't. To each his own. It’s not that big a deal.

Some people prefer not to watch BL dramas simply because they're not interested in gay romance. That doesn't make them "toxic." It's a matter of taste in genre. Example: I won't watch dramas where drug abuse is the main theme…or where an innocent person is accused and has to fight for 16 episodes to prove his innocence.

Who's hating him? All I hear is praise.
