i am confused why the Heavenly emperor even agreed to a marriage between YQ and a princess from the mortal world…
He wasn't supposed to survive anyways. She was nothing more than a symbol of peace between the humans and the immortals. Qing Kui was prepared t live as a widow for the rest of her life.
I wonder if agreeing to let Ye Tan live is part of Heaven Emperor's long term scheme. Qing Kui had to die so she couldn't use her power on him but letting Ye Tan live means she could regain her power and wipe out the Void Emperor. When that was done, he'd send in You Qin to kill her. He knows she'd never hurt You Qin. In the end, he'd truly control all 4 realms...thinking about it makes me hate him even more.
Just when you think the emperors couldn't sink any lower, they resolve to attack a weaker realm and will justify it! Their deaths can't come soon enough!
I still don't love Emperor Tun..but he gets a standing ovation from me today!!
Been crying all morning. I'm too sad to chat.ManMan is the saddest scene thus so far, even more so than the shards…
Man Man was literally sent to her to be her guardian angel TT
Looking back and seeing Man Man with her on every step of her journey only makes my heart break more and more. Every scheme, every shenanigan, and every moment of sadness/happiness; Man Man was always by her side. Plus they were both so excited for their soulmate day yet they couldn't celebrate it together TT TT TT
I've never been so sad to see a side character die before.
Something xianxia drama makers have to consider in scriptwriting is that we are no longer in a drama watching era where audiences want to see leads sacrifice themselves for the greater good or be silent protectors of their lady-loves. We don't want to see leads who are duty-bound to the point where that's where the tension comes from. I think it's why any sort of rendition of the tropes from Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, Ancient Love Story, Love and Redemption, Ashes of Love, etc don't work anymore. A relationship is a partnership based on equality and mutual love and respect; not secret keeping, not "I'll be cold to her to protect her," and certainly not "I'll sacrifice myself so she can live even if it means she'll mourn me for the rest of her long-ass life."
That's why YQ/YT and CF/QK work so well. There's no self-sacrifice and while YQ was duty-bound in his original form, he quickly scrapped that notion after his rebirth. And while QK/CF is the more "traditional" xianxia couple..their conflict doesn't stretch to the extent as the ones listed above.
Since it's a xianxia, the dead can come back to life, right? Reincarnation, soul gathering lamp or whatever :(If…
I don't think it will..if anything YQ will be furious at him for implanting the Stake of Oblivion into him and making him fight against YT. Plus, their family knows how difficult he is. If there is a meeting between YT and the emperor, it wouldn't surprise me if he attacked her and she killed him by simply defending herself.
I actually really like Husui. She has such a sad past and in any other drama, would've had a great heroine or even villainess origin story. I don't think she will become a villainess though because:
1. She's weak 2. She sincerely loves Ye Tan and Qing Kui and was going to keep everything a secret because she saw how happy they were with their hubbies. She awakened their powers as a last minute resort since they were going to die. 3. She's prepped to be a couple with Qing Heng
But if she did become a villainess...she has every right too. Her people were innocent and massacred because of the unfounded fear from the other 4 clans. Makes me think of Love Between Fairy and Devil where Orchid's entire clan was killed because of a prophecy. I do hope Ye Tan helps her revive her clan though. No one deserves to live in that kind of loneliness.
Husui said if one twin sister die, they lose the flower power, but why YT still have those powder after QK die?
I'm thinking Husui was probably speculating too. This event has never occurred before so how could she have all the answers. Plus, I'd think they'd need both halves to open Guixu..just having one half is an imbalance so Husui probably thought she wouldn't have the power to do anyting about Guixu anymore.
