For folks who have read the novel: - How closely does the drama follow the novel?- Is the novel well-written?…
In the novel, Minglan transmigrated from the future. So you can imagine how much changes they have to do incorporating it to the show. There are also sequences of events that were interchanged.
This show makes me want to learn Chinese. That's a testament to how good the show is.
The buildup with the characters, even the supporting casts are well written. 22 Episodes in, and there are only few interactions with Minglan and Gu Ting Ye, yet I love every moment of it and i hope to see more of them together on screen.
I'm not at that point of the story, yet, but this romantic intermezzo NQ/MSS is going terribly on my nerves. As…
For me it's more like they incorporated MSS and NQ storyline to develop Ning Que's character as an individual. Do remember that he is currently 17 years old(age of adolescent sexuality) in the story, and as you said he is immature. This will make him recognize and differentiate what he wants and what he needs. He currently doesn't know what kind of relationship he wants to have with SS(as i see it, he treats her(SS) as someone who is with him because of circumstance).
It has the 'Cheese in the Trap' vibe on it. And I like the soundtrack that they are using with the show so far. I love some KDramas that uses english songs/music.
