You can't really blame the production in making these dramas. It is the Chinese Government that put restrictions and minimum requirements(patriotism and stuff) on the show that these productions companies make if they want their shows to be aired. And the product placement were ok, tbh, i've seen worst that disrupts the storyline.

He's referring to the publication date of books/novel. And not the actual timeline of the universe(Novoland). There are a lot of authors(7+ main ) that uses the Novoland universe. Novoland history is said to be ~10,000 years worth of story(10 eras, 16 dynasties) Tribes and Empire is set in Duan Dynasty(year 314+200), the story iirc introduces different tribes. Castle in the Sky setting is the about the Winged Tribe (and probably its downfall) Eagle Flag (It's implied that the Winged Tribe is trying to recover) So by plot, Tribes and Empire > Castle in the Sky > Eagle Flag I will say this again, there are multiple authors for this series, and each have a different story to tell, it only share a single world/universe. So yeah, better don't expect any continuation in storylines.

HSY met Solo in another country, they decided to make a team in China. HSY considered Solo as his family. Solo is in relationship with his team mate, Appledog. Solo was surprised that he have a daughter with her ex. Solo wanted to take care of his daughter with her ex. Appledog left the team. Solo also left the team. Team Solo broke up since only 3 members are left. Thats the gist of it. This will be further explained in future episodes.
Plot seems simple and not complicated but the premise seems to be nice.
