I've only seen I'm a Cyborg, but I loved it. It was refreshingly different from any other Korean films I've seen and its strangeness reminded me of The Science of Sleep or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I don't think everyone would like this movie, but if you do like stuff that is truly quirky and oddball, this is for you.
Just saw some stills for this drama over at Dramabeans, and I CAN'T WAIT! I am so excited for this. The plot just really sounds great to me like few dramas have lately. I love the cast too. I just really hope it's well directed because I have high hopes!

Thank you so much!!!! I really appreciate that. :D
Choi Jin Hyuk's character is the gumiho, Lee Seung Gi's dad in the drama (from what I've read). That's what makes this a twist on the normal gumiho story - having male gumihos instead of females. I can't wait because I LOVE fusion sageuks (probably my fave genre), but I'm still not happy about the casting of Suzy.
I've seen them all already! Bummer! Can't wait for the next one, but it better be better than Big. I wonder why…
I agree. I think it was really more a rhetorical question on my part. I write some myself and, yes, endings are hard, no doubt. But I guess it seems to me that if you know endings are your weakness (which surely they do by now), why not try to improve upon it, at least just once. They could try writing to the ending rather, with it in mind, rather than patching it on like a too small band-aid. I guess it's just that I love their work so much (normally) that I wish they could fix this glaring weakness. If I didn't love their dramas, I probably wouldn't care so much.
I've seen them all already! Bummer! Can't wait for the next one, but it better be better than Big. I wonder why the Hong sisters have so much trouble with endings? You'd think after all these dramas they'd eventually have figured out how to write a satisfying ending but instead they wrote their worst one yet with Big. Fingers crossed that they eventually fix this weakness.

Definitely. It'll take longer than normal for me because of the format, but I definitely intend to finish it. I think I'll watch an ep right now :)!

I really did. I'm a huge Lee Min Ki fan so I try to watch anything with him. But what I really like about this so far is how different it is from normal Kdramas. It's very, very quirky and doesn't seem to follow normal conventions. I like dramas that are different than the norm. If it was on Viki or Dfever I'd probably have it half done by now, but having to watch on Gooddrama is slowing me down.

Oh, and I just saw on your profile that you like So Ji Sub, so, yeah, you should definitely watch WHIB! I watched it because I like Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung, but I'd never seen SJS before but now I think I'll check out Ghost because of him.

Genger, I definitely think you would still enjoy it. Although I love the ending, by about 7 eps from the end I was starting to kind of think that was the way it would go, or at least partly. But I still really enjoyed this drama. I enjoyed it because I could never predict how it would get to the end even if I sort of thought I knew what that end would be, and also because of the amazing acting. If you like great acting and psychologically gripping writing, then you'll enjoy this no matter what. The ending is really just icing on the cake to me.

Thank you so much! :) I really enjoy writing reviews when I have the time. And some dramas just make me want to write them more than others, Bali was one of them because it was just so thought and emotion provoking.
Just saw the trailer and this looks to be too cute for words! I can't wait to see Min-ki in a new movie. I can never get enough of him! He absolutely kills at romcom. From what I saw of the trailer, few actors could have pulled this role off like him.
I have watched some melodramas but they are definitely not my fave genre. I only watch them if I really like the actors. I wasn't even going to watch this one at all until I read a really good review of ep 2 and decided to give it a try. I am sooooooo glad I did. The acting is absolutely brilliant as is the directing. As long as this stays a character driven story with compelling acting, I will be there watching. It just goes to show that any genre can be good if it is well done. I'm also pleased with the 16 ep run time and I only hope they stick to it and don't start adding eps. It's when these types of dramas start to run long that they run out of steam and get boring, so I like the idea of a pithy melodrama for a change. Fingers crossed.
3. Yes, because in the East Asian countries where these are made,
more men work out of the home than women. So women would be available
to watch more tv (like soap operas in the US being geared towards
women, but of course those have started dying out as more and more
women work outside of the home).
4. All male, and, yes, I've noted my bias. But I have the same bias
Western actors vs. actresses, so it's not just unique to my drama
watching.
5. Acting ability is first. If there is truly bad acting by the leads,
I don't care how attractive the cast is. That goes for the female leads
as well.
6. I don't care for any Asian pop music so idol status is irrelevant
to me.
7. Sageuks, dark comedies, action and romcoms.
8. I'll watch any genre. But I do tend to gravitate towards dramas with
actors (or actresses) that I've already established I like.

Oh, I love Arang so can't argue there about ditching it and going for Coffee Prince. It's a tossup in my book. Arang is one of my fave dramas and Lee Jun Ki is just perfection in my book. That's one I would watch a 2nd time.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the current one you are struggling through? If it's a Kdrama maybe I've seen it and I can tell you if it's better or worse than Coffee Prince. :)
In my opinion this will always be the best kiss in the history of Kdramas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiMygDppiP8…
I'm with you. If I had a top 20 things I've learned from Kdramas list, one of them would definitely be that Kang Ji Hwan CAN KISS! Even if the drama isn't all that good, if there is a KJH kiss in it, it WILL be HOT!
Fashion King - for Yoo Ah In, but finished for Lee Je Hoon and this is my lowest rated drama.
Great Seer - for Ji Jin Hee & because I love sageuks, but this one was turd.
Big - for Gong Yoo and the Hong Sisters.
Coffee House & Exhibition of Fireworks - for Kang Ji Hwan
Playful Kiss - for Kim Hyun Joong
Bachelor Vegetable Store - Ji Chang Wook
Temptation of an Angel - Bae Soo Bin
A Man Called God - Song Il Kook
Panda & Hedgehog - for Donghae and Choi Jin Hyuk
7th Grade Civil Servant - for Joo Won
2. Definitely
