toxic and doesn't make sense
Kiss Me Again is the prequel to Kiss and introduces the beginning of the friendship between Sandee, Thada, June, Pete and Kao as well as Sandee's sisters and their relationships. Other side characters in Dark Blue Kiss are introduced here as well (Sun and Mork).But oh boy this drama normalises toxic relationships and its mind-boggling how it got 7.2 star rating on MDL.
1) PeteKao
Enemies -> Frenemies -> Boyfriends. Started off on the wrong foot and their first kiss was an accident. But was it justified for Pete to force Kao out of their friend group and to assault Kao for talking to his ex-girlfriend, Mint because of his own confused feelings? Also, after being treated like this, I don't understand how Kao can go along to have sex with Pete after their Mookata session with Sun. Brah, like how do you even get it up with a guy like Pete after all that? Well, at least Pete got more bearable towards the end of the series but does it redeem his past actions? Errrr, I don't think so but Kao seems to think otherwise by taking him as his boyfriend.
Will be seeing how their relationship develops in Dark Blue Kiss.
2) RSanwan
Poor Poor Sanwan. She was setup for a relationship with R by her mother and R's father. R is a piece of shit that bullies and tried to sexually assault Sanwan in Episode 2 and also pushes her into the swimming pool when she couldn't swim. Pretty sure that's attempted murder. And his possessive jealous repulsive creature of a girlfriend, Sinee just couldn't understand that Sanwan wants nothing to do with R even when she rejected him in front of her and even tried to have Sanwan raped. WTF..... The transition arc to redeem R was also very abrupt - he becomes a hero by stalking Sanwan and saving her? How Sanwan came out of this mess without trauma remains a mystery.
3) MattSanson and SoSansuay
Gave up on both couples.
Sanson is paid by Matt's mother to find out if Matt is gay or straight because he hangs out so much with his good mate Pat. Basically, Sanson invades Matt's personal lives and employs horrible tactics for this purpose. She's a downright awful cunt and Matt fancies her after all she did to him... Boy how????
Sansuay is a hostile brat that insults So's then current model girlfriend, Nicole (is that her name? i forgot) for no reason other than spite. So is weird as well. Instead of defending Nicole, he attempts to get closer to Sansuay to win her back. Like HUH??? The best part is when Sansuay broke up with So initially because in her words, So was immature and rash. But hey, girl herself is *ahem* equally immature and rash?
Moving on, the few soundtracks that were available were heavily re-used in many scenes and some of them didn't fit the scene AT ALL. Here's an example: In Episode 2, Sanson brings Matt to a KTV bar as part of her scheme to have escorts grope him and happy music is playing in the background???? I was SO CONFUSED.....
Anyway, this felt like a toxic competition but hey they did a good job conveying toxicity. Still can't tell who is the bitchiest bitch among all the characters.
Toxic relationships exist - but let's not normalise it 🥰
