I'm feeling the same thingggg!! There is like some progress by ep 15 but its still just messy and their isn't…
Yeah... its 33 episodes long, we are at 14/15... and it still feels like an introduction :'( I honestly love some crazy angst and sad scenes, as long as the core members don't die and the ending is happy. But it's been pretty... slow? I guess? haha idk im glad you feel the same way, though I hope things improve soon
girl you reply so fast hahaha and nope im trying to get past 13. it's very satisfying character wise and visual wise. but the plot just isn't interesting so far. I know I'll like it later on, when they reveal their identities and such (I never ask for spoilers but that's pretty obvious) so im going to keep watching of course. I just wish it made me so INTRIGUED and excited to watch.
im bored so im watching it. and I love the leads sm. BUT hmmm I can't rlly focus on it. It's just okay so far :') Wonder if things will pick up the pace soon..?
so im only on ep 7 but having trouble organizing the setting and sects... Ji Tong Zhou just said he and his cousin have to report to "His Highness" and I know they're both a prince and princess. but of what land? The Yue State right (Xingzheng Hall?). But are they not on their land right now. Are the other characters from different lands? Ik the ML and some friends are from the same place, that Longming Sanctuary attacked and got rid of? Or is it all just one land, Yue, and there are different factions within it like the Longming Sanctuary, WuYue court, and the neutral Academy...
That's the thing about Korea, they have SUCH a double(or quadruple) standard. The stars who have had a big fanbase, especially in the cinematic field, often come back from BIG scandals like DUIs and drug use, both of which are INSANELY looked down upon in conservative korea. And always, the ones who come back successfully are MEN.
If a kdrama actor, idol, or comedian were to go through the same things, regardless of gender, not only would they stay off the spotlight and just live life away from the cameras, but their taboo past would stick with their name for the rest of their lives. We've seen countless celebrities even simply accused with no real evidence walk away from stardom, never to be seen again. Quite sad how two celebrities from different fields can commit the same crime and are treated SO differently.
With YooAhIn, he was so loved publicly. He starred in mega box office hits and despite the rumors that constantly followed him, like him being gay (another still taboo subject in conservative Korea) and visiting certain establishments, he was a fan favorite. The public opinion on his scandal was quite hypocritical at the time which is why I can see why and how the agency is trying to prepare him for a comeback.
I mean, good for him. Never a fan but also never a hater. Just wanted to point out something I've noticed in the industry. :p
so I just finished this yesterday, and like I said in my review... high school >> Time skip reunion >> after they get back together again but it's like this for me with almost every drama with a breakup the super lovey dovey scenes so cute and all, but not as fun as the development of their relationship in the beginning and the angst that comes with the reunion after a breakup. still liked it a lot <33
so the academy, wuyue court, xingzheng hall, longming sanctuary... are these three sort of the three "groups" you can categorize them into? and is one more "bad" than the others.. im guessing longming? and what even are they :/ Is Yue the state they're all in? Is that the same as Wuyue?
Just started this... but after reading the synopsis im curious... when does she become girly lol I don't mind bc shes beautiful either way, but story-wise, im curious. :)
Some comments make me wonder if people are watching this drama with one finger on the ffw button. Or have people…
I mean, most of the audience doesn't speak the language, and subtitles leave out a LOT of small but important details. AND censorship or other broadcasting reasons have many many scenes cut out, so it actually does make more sense that some people don't fully understand everything 100%. Especially if some WHY questions are purposely answered later on so as to leave an epiphany-like feeling for the audience.
You're entitled to your own opinion, but I personally don't think this plot is simple at all. It's not crazy hard to follow, and it seems to me that they meant for our leads to have confusing feelings or reasons for their actions-- it adds depth and reality to their difficult relationship. There are in fact a few questions that may be plot holes or answered in the few remaining episodes, but either way, neither the producers nor the audience are doing anything wrong either.
it's so happy and all again, but it's that much scarier bc I know it's too early for HAPPILY EVER AFTER... and what's scariest is how we have no idea WHY Zhou Wan is agreeing to everything-- joining the project and living w LXX... though we all have a pretty good guess... ugh it almost feels like the calm before the stormš®āšØ
I'm still on Episode 4, but I really want to watch their professional/angsty era already. Can I just breeze through…
lol ofc not!! If you rlly rlly want, skip to like 10. But their relationship growing is so important. So unless youāre like on a time crunch I wouldnāt skip because the angst happens around 20-21.
Iām just worried that sheās going to get back together with him with ulterior motives now that she knows the truth behind her fatherās death⦠I donāt want him to go through a second heartbreak. š

I will not say anything, but when you finish maybe we can talk about it a bitš I do hope you like it tho!
