I love all shapes and sizes! And in a country where VERY thin male actors are revered for their bodies, I really appreciate some larger men (ChenXingXu<3) I never once thought of Joseph as anywhere NEAR big or fat. Wouldn't you prefer a man who can actually carry you and run in an emergency ð€

LOL china is def conservative, but kiss scenes are normal in shows, even in china's show business. Esp if it's a romantic genre, it's sort of a given. For viewers who are engrossed in their relationship development, it's also sort of a strong factor that solidifies the strength of the romance.
They're not forced to--some actors and actresses actually have in their contract that they don't want to do any excessive skinship, which is fine too. Be Passionately in Love is just like that, so maybe that's your cup of tea. Also The Long Ballad-- these two are all I can think of at the moment.
I do agree that Hollywood is excessive in showing sexual scenes for viewership, and at times it can make it just look cheap. But China has a fine line with what is appropriate, so rest assured you won't see anything more than kissing. If even that is too scandalous for you, just skip the scenes :)

Yeah... its 33 episodes long, we are at 14/15... and it still feels like an introduction :'( I honestly love some crazy angst and sad scenes, as long as the core members don't die and the ending is happy. But it's been pretty... slow? I guess? haha idk im glad you feel the same way, though I hope things improve soon

I know I'll like it later on, when they reveal their identities and such (I never ask for spoilers but that's pretty obvious) so im going to keep watching of course. I just wish it made me so INTRIGUED and excited to watch.

Ji Tong Zhou just said he and his cousin have to report to "His Highness" and I know they're both a prince and princess. but of what land? The Yue State right (Xingzheng Hall?). But are they not on their land right now. Are the other characters from different lands? Ik the ML and some friends are from the same place, that Longming Sanctuary attacked and got rid of? Or is it all just one land, Yue, and there are different factions within it like the Longming Sanctuary, WuYue court, and the neutral Academy...
