I am not upset that the drama is predictable...that is not an issue at all... I started by saying it is predictable but it also has a massive out of left field elements i.e. all the problematic parts..

you see there are people like me who would start watching a drama because it is so popular right now WITHOUT reading the novel and it should be accepted that reading the novel is a pre req..

I get it that this is fiction.. but "they made the drama version better" does not justify it or make it any better because there is no trigger warning.. all the SA and coercion stuff is bad enough but personally for me, the DV part was actually triggering because I have experience with intimate partner abuse and NOTHING prepared me for the scenes in the drama related to DV.. and it was treated as a comedy bit!!!....yes this is fiction but we are real people...

Also it is not impossible to modify things to make it more palatable (for example instead of the DV, coercion and self harm they could have gone for a hurt/comfort angle... maybe XS wants it but he is not ready and CY is still patient despite being a "bad guy" because he is in love idk...or instead of the "forcing" people in the past dialogues, they could have made the leads just rich scumbags like "I get anyone I like because I can throw money at them"... it still conveys that the MLs are "bad guys" without the sour taste that repeated mentions of SA brings).... If the makers did not want to make the mods then fine.. just put a goddamned trigger warning..

Once again I get that this is fiction but let's not normalize or sugar coat the problematic aspects... I would not be writing essays if they had trigger warnings... it sets the expectation and gives us the chance to make a choice that works for us..

The story itself is as predictable as the earth's trajectory around the sun.... The only surprise is the fact that this show has some of the most unhinged shits I've ever experienced in any live actions... some people kindly explained the lore behind why this show is a hot mess of "dafuq bruh???🥴🥴🥴??????"....... but explanation is not an excuse you know?? there is absolutely no trigger warnings anywhere and the massive popularity does not prepare you for the vomit inducing bullshit that's coming out of the character's mouth-holes... Multiple jokes about SA and DV, coercion and mentions of roofying, pretending to self herm in front someone who has actual experience with self harm are some of the few problematic things that are shown, often repeatedly!!!!!!! and I get that this type of things can be a guilty pleasure for some but bruh.... even the anything-goes-world of AO3 has tags!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, no one put a gun to my head and force me to watch this so 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️..... But be warned you all!!!⚠️⚠️⚠️ and keep your vomit buckets close ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Despite being scarred for live, I must admit there are eye candies left and right.. Also the metal rimmed crystal glassware they keep showing - yep that was the highlight for me....

I'm fairly new to bl scene... I used to read a lot published m/m fictions so some of the bl tropes still blow my mind... because even in the "bad" published work, even bottoms in SM dynamics are written as if they are into it... for a "good" work, there's all the communication about boundaries and all that... I now totally understand the context of this drama from all the comments... just that it's so hyped that maybe I expected something different 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Exactly my thought but maybe it varies from person to person??? I was thinking this man got millions and he cannot spring for a good quality lube??? Not to mention how uncomfortable and borderline scared wei is at the thought of subsequent sexual encounters... I mean why must the bottoms be portrayed as they are just barely tolerating it for sake of the top???? Although there was tonkla from 4 minutes who was written to be totally opposite this trope...
