Editorials Hilarious parody of typical short dramas
Do not repeat my mistakes—do not watch this short drama at night, or you run a very real risk of waking the whole house with your laughter. Seriously, it was hilarious. The plot is fairly simple and there isn't much romance, but it's packed with jokes and satire.
I'm not sure what the creators originally intended, but I watched this mini-drama as a parody of typical short dramas. It mocks tons of clichéd tropes—or rather, exaggerates them to such an extreme and delivers them with such deadpan seriousness (or deliberate overacting) that you simply cannot take what's happening on screen seriously. The female lead's kidnapping scene alone is worth the watch!
The actors did a fantastic job and clearly had a blast. The bloopers during the end credits are a mood-booster in their own right—there are so many genuine smiles.
Ma Xiao Yu is once again charismatic and stern, but amid the general chaos, it comes off as genuinely amusing. He ended up being such a cute, jealous male lead. I hadn't seen Deng Ling Shu before, but she fit right into the satirical tone, handling the caricatured reactions and over-the-top emotions in a way that felt entirely appropriate for the show.
Overall, it turned out clean, funny, and perfect for lifting your spirits.
