It was good but pacing is all over the place. Start very fast. get unnecessary slow than get fast again.

They need spread out the pacing , cutting slow middle part to flesh out an early episode. Early episodes are extremely fast to the point you can get dizzy from it. Act three is fine. Still the story is easy to understand, all emotion is there. Political play is not too crazy but still makes sense.

Cinematography and visual were amazing tho. So many beautiful shoot. Chen Du Ling and Yi Ran are gorgeous.

Lol what? A mysterious figure literally pouring entire poison powder to the jug of wine. It is just we don't have follow up with that jug of wine. But Fanyun poisoned though. I feels they just left that as foreshadow or future plot device. Prolly something to do with Zheng Shi because he is the only one knew.

So far , it is enjoyable. Is it need to be dark and twisted with unhinged characters so drama/show can be enjoyable those day?

Overall ep1 is was pretty similar to anime. FL send to palace, meeting on library, FL and ML meet on the flower garden. FL is smart but also clumsy and airheaded. It was trope of heroine in anime.
