Let's get real it is nowhere bad as final season of Game of Throne. You can just think they are traveling in couple weeks or month. They travelling will not affecting storytelling so why bother.
Compared other company such Youku and Iqiyi, Tencent have the most money but this drama seems really low budget. Not only costumes looks so tacky but overall editing and color grading are cheap looking. We don't mention how script are bad. Xu Kai and Nazar alone can't keep me to watch it.

PXR is center of the drama. Her character is amazing and she deliver it. This kind of character fit her. Storyline was quite good, political palace is intriguing. FL wanted to take revenge but she need to do realistic maneuver and she need to have realistic scenario for that. Usurping established Emperor is not a joke and it required more than plot armor or typical Hollywood marry sue to become believable. ML is really nice as well, he and his dad are character you want to root.
Every characters have deep. there is no black and white. Even villainous character like LYQ, he doing bad thing and so petty but he also protecting Chu family.
I must say bad Emperor is doomed himself and pretty much he is his own downfall. He do not run a country correctly and have bad people around him. So country become weak and enemy from border attacking.
FL is weak but she gain many supporters because her kindness and noble act. She utilized her prestigious being as previous Emperor daughter to gain her objective in secret. Hence why she can expose thebad emperor and bring people to put him down.
