just like you mentioned the count of monte cristo i agree how the revenge elements did work on this drama!! without the usage of comedy which is just out of place like seriously japan should eliminate comedy in tags. unless if it is as humorous as honeys 2021.. i think japan drama is really good at producing melodrama and they should continue on developing melodrama and/or revenge... there's no jdrama who failed me in a revenge drama... the revenge jdrama i have watched all of them are having the best elements of revenge and i think they should continue that... :( it sad to think why japan keeps on making romcom which is way too cliche :( and choosing mainstream actors and actresss... they make jdrama adaptation from kdrama such as kanojo wa kirei datta... when there's a lot kdramas better than that deserves to have it's jdrama adaptation like yellow boots
