I think she means that BBD killed XW's mother...which gives some background to XW's origin. That's because for those of us who have seen the anime has some inside info on XW, TS (reincarnated), TS's mum, XG (TS's teacher)...etc. These are skipped mainly due to time constraints as it would be too long to put in I believe.
I was OK with the story even tho' it strayed from the anime. There were light hearted moments and some mystery along the way that was not found in the anime. However, the ending spoilt it for me as I found it was lazy script writing that could be due to budget constraints.
A better ending with a payoff for the audience while leaving mysteries still to be uncovered to stay tune for Season 2 would have been preferred.

I had the same thought! I was hoping that it would end with the 7 Shrek Devils winning the finals and then Tang Hao will have an epic battle (XW is wounded but lives due to the flower she got) and the 7 will leave and promise to meet up 5 years later. That would have been a good ending.
But we got a whimper of a fight with no connection on what happened after he threw a hammer!!!
They ran out of budget methinks and had to settle for flashbacks filler to pad the ending. Sigh.
