That's my take on it too. It makes a lot of sense to see all of the squad riding away, for us viewers, and also for Chu-yue, if it means her time is up and she is going away to join them. Yang-ying has to keep on her own journey, that's why she's not the one meeting Ru-yi and Ning Yuan-zhou's "son" from the other side.

I had the same thought. Maybe Chu-yue somehow hallucinated the boy, or he was somehow Yang-ying's and Li Tong-guang's son; his name and his little sister's name would still make sense considering how important Ru-yi, Ning Yuan-zhou, Shi-san, and Yuan-lu to both.
