episode 8 only further proves that kindness is a strength, not a weakness. it is because of how well zhao ling treats others even when he doesn't need to that he keeps receiving good karma. just when you think a moment of mercy from him will go unaccounted for, it is returned to him in ways he least expected. a criminal with a heart of gold. ❤️

yeah... if we look at the rating breakdown by age group, the drama is actually sitting on 8.5 to 9.3. so the low overall rating is just because trolls have a lot of time on their hands.

this is such a beautiful tribute post to zhao ling. i love this so much. thank you. i fear characters like him are often misunderstood. but having a heart is not a weakness. it takes far more courage to still be kind after living a life of hardships. like others have said, i'm tired of the typical "cold hearted" and born "filthy rich and perfect" ml trope. this is a nice change for once.

it wasn't because of the actors, but i dropped melody of golden age. i find the story and execution of the road to splendor to be much more solid. love the fl in this one. her acting has improved and there were several of her performances that made me emotional. definitely worth checking out!
