GMMTV's contracts are not exclusive, there's been plenty of times actors from the company have worked outside of it, for example Guy Sivakorn was in the thai remake of Secretary Kim just a few months ago, Foei Patara, who recently left the company, was in Manner of Death in 2020, Gun Attaphan has done films elsewhere, one of them pretty risqué to boot, Joong Archen had the main role in an action comedy series called Mafia: Guns&Freaks in 2022 (it's hilarious, strongly recommend even if it's a little hard to find), Luke Ishikawa has also always done projects here and there.
Plus Barcode was already working on Happy Ending when he joined, if his management is worth anything, they would have stipulated that he'd be allowed to continue working on the project to its full completion.

(gmmtv has its flaws, but there's no need to invent new ones to critcise, we already have enough material 🤣)
