Love a series that seems to start off with messy sex. Avoids all that silly nonsense we get with GMMTV and the never ending build up to a cheek kiss.

Yes but FirstKhao was infinitely better than the first 2. The second was particularly awful

Generally don't pay much attention to fan service, it's too phoney and silly. I have, however, seen a little of these two and they do seem friendly together. That doesn't translate to love of my life vibes. And I like Dunk much better in fan service than on camera acting.

My partner, who doesn't watch BL's with me, happened by and was shocked when he heard that hymn going in the background. Funny.

For some reason these two can not convince me that they are a gay couple. If the acting is so bad that they seem to be totally faking it, it's hard to become invested in them as a couple. No intimacy. No kisses. Always seem to be avoiding any real close touches. Makes for a pretty sterile relationship. Probably the worst couple in this series. And this episode is just plain dumb

Wow, 'lacks in emotions'. Are we watching the same show? I think the general consensus here is quite the opposite. So to answer your question; yes, you are probably the only one who thinks this show is overrated. In fact I think a rating of 9-10 would be much more appropriate.

Well I guess a rating of 8 on MDL is pretty good. A tough audience here as we tend to be overly critical but here this has sort of hit all the points: good acting, actual real intimacy, amazing cinematography, and beautiful location. And a great story of discovery of young gay awakening and sensuality.

I'm a little surprised by by a rating of only 8. This series so far surpasses any other shows out there right now. Everything about this is near perfect. I don't say this often but right now for me it's a 10.

I've been waiting for Uea to stand up for his self. No matter how much abuse he put up with there comes a time when you have to stand on your own two feet. I know family is sort of sacred but that mother should have been jettisoned the day he turned 18. Uea has a good job. He doesn't need that mother for anything. In fact, she needs him. I had abuse from my mother and I put 2000 km between us for the rest of my life when I was 19. Mom never really forgave me for that but my confidence grew from then on. When you allow people to use you for a doormat you end up with a situation like that with Krit. Uea is a victim but he has to start treating himself like he's in charge of his own life.

Except from what I'm hearing the epilogue did contain intimate scenes. If they wanted to make a sterile finale they shouldn't have made it 2 years into their relationship.

Yes in a 2gether sort of way. Could live without the kiss but at least be realistic in the type of relationship 2 years would provide. I mean who the hell gets into a hot tub fully dressed or goes to bed on their romantic getaway not only dressed but about 10 feet from each other? Yikes.

Yes but ASTCO and 2gether have some tragic similarities.

100% agree. Lovers of 2 years don't act like they're afraid of each others body and soul. Total fail for me.

Or at least go into a hot tub in something other than fully clothed. Or go to bed on their romantic get away and stay completely away from each other while fully clothed. I made the comment above that this ended much like 2gether and essentially ruined this for me. I, too, don't need a kiss but some kind of sign of intimacy between lovers of 2 years is a must for me.

As I posted above, a kiss isn't realistically necessary but some indication of familiarity and/or intimacy between lovers of two years is absolutely necessary.

While I agree that kiss scene is not necessary, showing some kind of intimacy or at least some familiarity with the M/L's would have made this somewhat realistic. I mean what couple goes into a hot tub fully dressed? What couple of two years recoil when their partner comes close for a peck on the lips or cheek. What couple goes to bed on their romantic vacation fully dressed and not so much as a cuddle? I'm sorry but these actions more or less ruined this for me. Reminded me of 2gether. Blaaahhh

I don't like using the term 'masterpiece' but if ever there is the choice to use the term, this is it. Absolutely engrossing story, perfect casting, and musical score a thing of beauty. Actors able to carry an emotional response from the audience that is largely unparalleled in most BL's. Bravo to all the actors and to all involved in this wonderful production.
