thats what I also noticed in some of these new historical dramas.. they just be having uneven pacing..
yup sadly quite unfortunate...partially its because of the various rules they have to follow to release a drama and also they need to satisfy novel readers so i think they try to fit alot of plots and progression in a short time when in fact alot could have been removed and paced better to make it more complete
Maybe because grief got to him. He lost his mom, then found out his dad was the cause of it all. Later his beloved…
character wise yes we could think of it that way but directing wise in general they stopped giving the ML scenes where he thinks of a plan and executes it. They focused more on the FL. She is literally everywhere and he just appears out of nowhere behind her... i liked that they discuss issues together etc but the screentime... impt scenes were all one sided towards the end. they are kinda aiding each other but also feels like shes the only one going around (yea its just the directing/writing i feel)
for the expectations i had nothing really "wow"-ed me...i didnt have a wow thats so smart moment. I enjoyed watching her handle her business more but once they got together it just got dry. the middle part of the drama was the most interesting. like the charisma Songmo had in that jail scene where he was "acting" with her whereee did that go?? like his charisma just all gone towards the end
honestly, might be just me but initially i thought the eps were interesting like ep 1-3...then i realised they were rushing and cutting everything cause until ep 12+ it was just too much. Then the pacing got better in the middle but again everything was rushed and kept towards the end. like some situations are just thrown in because they just had to add the story from the novel in without proper development or build up....
i really couldnt see the chemi between the leads like they had really good dialogues but the locations and vibes when they were saying them wasnt directed that well. FL lead suits the ML from the first eps. Their characters in the first eps had more chemi than when they actually got together >< (just my opinion)
ngl kinda suspected him from the start cause he was never on par with anyone in their team. His views to situations were always different and stuff. But the reveal was a bit anti-climatic cause they started fore shadowing the plot twists a few episodes ahead especially the killer's one. Its just so sad for binbin sighhhh
i wanted to continue but seeing the comments seems like the same situation is being repeated again and again until the end. can someone spoil it for me XD
binbin is probably not the real brother right? if binbin is revealed to be the villain's son i think that would be a really interesting twist if executed well.
yoooo i’m at ep10 and srsly why can’t the police just catch 1 guy at least 😭 like the carpark scene they had the place locked down how did he get away??? i know they are trying to drag it out cause if their plans was actually good the drama probably would end in few episodes. Ding yuxi spends so much effort to get a lead for them only for the police to miss it all the time….
honestly this movie is really preference based, usually for these kind of plots alot of the portions are longer to make us feel more for the character but in this show since its a really short movie it was really fast paced every 10mins the plot was changing haha...
but honestly i didnt mind it cause its just a very simple and common plot so u cant expect something shocking.
DIng yuxi is really good like that scene with his friends where he was listing his 3 wishes and the ending scene where he was saying his vows wow the way he was conveying the emotions were really good.
Movie is a semi-open ending but with a sad output(?) like u know what is going to happen but they dont show it...
before they became adults they felt more like really good friends instead of "siblings". but the child actors at the start tho they actually did the siblings portion much better
i think for 16 eps they managed to highlight most of the main points with a clear flow. Second half focus was more on the mothers which is a huge part cause i remember wanting to flip the table when i watched the OG so i was prepared for this haha
romance wise hmmm didnt feel the chemi i kinda skipped scenes with the main leads and watched the second leads instead. Dal's character was so well written cause i loved her conversations with Haejun. Easy to understand and impactful.
honestly in both adaptations if the romance was removed its still a very nice family drama to watch. A feel good light show. not sure why everyone is so concerned about the "love triangle" when in both the dramas the SML was just confused about his feelings...
in terms of depth however Go Ahead still does better because they had more time to build up all the situations. Overall i think for first time watchers it will be a really good show for those watching it as a remake its a good adaptation which keeps all the main points with some twists of their own!
the games were sooooo boring, the games didnt even feel important anymore it was more of politics and getting ppl on your side. Half the cast members were just free loaders for so long and surviving with lame reasons like "oh i made a promise to him/her. I have a strong belief i cant break promises" then im like "what are you even doing here on this game show??" then others are like "oh hes the oldest we cannot kick him out" he literally contributed nothing and wah that scene where dex like was giving a "report" to him just shook me i was like this is sooo lame
really the only person playing the game properly was Park Jimin..initially you might think what she was doing isnt good but after awhile seeing how the rest play i feel bad for her she must be so annoyed cause there is no one playing it like her.
wah really one of the missions "I feel bad for them should we just lose on purpose" ....??? what are you filming game of blood or game of love??? and the police guy wah i cannot so pissed off..
i watched this drama years ago and rewatched it recently...yea the drama is really full of fluff without any misunderstanding plots and stuff! but the FL's character will be hard to get used to...its really very cringe im not sure why her character was directed this way but yea other than that their romance is quite strong and cute. You can choose to skip the second leads and just watch the main leads.
so saddd they made it way too scripted...after awhile it just became like a game show instead of a natural drama+variety kinda show....and srsly the gym mission was just??? so unnatural....yes its watchable but honestly mainly cause Dex and Siyoung carried once again! I did enjoy Dex and Sungjae chemi tho sungjae had a good character development where he started out scared but eventually started taking the lead!
aiyahh sadly all the missions...it just felt like they had to force characters to be eliminated...
I understand the comments now haha...initially i felt that it was okay maybe for like the first 15eps i could still follow their investigation plot but then afterwards the plot didnt feel like it had a continuous flow and felt more like they were adding stuff in...esp with a story highly reliant on investigations only its difficult to keep the attention of the audience if the case isnt interesting or not explained properly....
romance portion i think, i feel like the chemi was okayyy and FL was decent also (just that her character towards the end gets a bit annoying). Ding Yuxi kinda carried this one but even at ep 30 im confused about his family story xD kiss scenes are there but really bare minimum halfway through the drama i realised the FL is a 05liner T.T 19 omg so its understandable. honestly if the plot was better they could have just done the show without any kiss scenes but their chemi is still okay!
