revenge plot...with an unsatisfactory ending....
The drama is not heavy on romance and its not very important for the plot. The focus is highly on one single family and their family issues. The emperor is just there to make the task for the ML more challenging.
Dont get me wrong, cause the start of the drama really had potential and I thought the mystery is going to be revealed one after the other. However, it was revealed in such an obvious manner and the final reasoning was so mild that you just go, "huh thats it?" The reason behind her death and everything wasnt something mindblowing, it became more confusing because everything is revealed in the last 5eps. I was not a fan of how this was structured but basically the ending became a talking session with every bad guy going on and on about their story and povs....the satisfaction really dropped drastically.
XQY started out fine in the beginning but towards the middle she became annoying. The guy she loves and trusts from childhood asked her to wait awhile she just goes "no i dont care i want it now"....basically her character didnt really give me the wow so smart to have planned all this (partially this maybe because Yan Rui kept interfering in all their issues). Like his entrance started becoming an internal meme among the fans.
I feel the leads had good chemistry and the plot had potential to be alot more dramatic. However, it doesnt really live up to the initial expectations.
