It could have been perfect (the writing, acting, and directing were great), but JiHo's complicated actions in the last four episodes still beyond me. I still can't and won't ever understand her moves to SeHee (not even a fangirl, but SH deserves better imho). I loved the ep 1-12 (boy, I was really obsessed with it!). but the rest left bitter taste for me. Even the finale was too cheesy for my taste. Overall, it's still a better show comparing to other 2017 rom-com dramas, just don't expect too high from it.
Although this is pretty unrealistic, the moral of the story is well delivered. I gave high score for the directing and HHJ's acting! and also, imho she has the best chemistry with Lee Jin wook. I wish to see them more in kdrama ha! 8/10
I almost gave it high score because I loved the directing and the way it tells the story and I really liked the powerful scenes between main characters. Story-wise, overall, it's just an overused trope around sageuk movies/dramas (the implicit erotism scenes are not that necessary to be shown that frequently .___. ). Thankfully the actors (and the whole editing/directing) make the movie much more compelling as a whole. It isn't for everybody, but it's worth to watch if you like an artsy and true-sageuk-vibe movie. Just be ready to click ff button whenever disturbing scenes appear.
Doppel it after 6 1/2 episodes...the characters were just too annoying and/or naive for my taste :(
right? I wish I could like it more, but I decided to drop it and didn't feel like I missed out anything. SIG and NJH were doing fine with the acting, but the whole story and their characters weren't the thing I wanted to see.
Comparing to those current popular dramas out there, this one has decent pace (note that I always love fast pace, but I could still enjoy this one while I mostly drop anything slow). The plot definitely is not the best, but this isn't the worst either.
Romance has been the first element that always attracts me to watch any show, and TWY delivers the best one by far. More importantly, the whole package: beautiful OST (when I said beautiful, it is really really beautiful), wondrous directing, and sizzling chemistry between the leads made me put TWY as one of my top 3 fav kdrama. Absolutely not for everyone's taste, but I must say, for those who could enjoy it, you've just found a gem which by far is the most underappreciated drama in 2017.
I'm going to echo the previous comments here for new viewers to give it a try. Most dramas get better by episode 3 or 4.
hesitant to start this looking at these comments. but why is it so highly rated??
yes, It'd be much better if you check it so you can form your own opinion about it. After all, there's no such a thing as objective-view, since every drama-watching experience is personal. On to the positive note, I enjoyed the bromance, the antics, and the 2nd leads story in DotS :)

because this drama was widely popular (most people and literally their mothers watch this), so the amount of critics are so many and varied. In all honestly, DotS can be a hit or a miss. I personally found it as the later one. Maybe because I watched many dramas before, some scenes in this show felt too overused. I would rate it higher if I was still in my teenager life when everything fluffy was a-must-have in a drama. No offense, but I still think this drama is overrated because there are so many well-written and thought-provoking dramas out there which didn't get much praise they deserve to get.
