But I was really annoyed with the whole Shiro running from Skinship. It was ok on the series, but here I felt it a lil too much. They also teased a kiss multiple times for what? Not that I was expecting one (I knew they wouldn’t adapt the whole doujinshi where they kiss) but why tease it so much?
But I would still watch a second season, there are a lot of material to adapt and I love Kenji and Shiro.

It's different from Cherry Magic (they are officially a couple) or Kei x Yaku (the source material is BL, but the company advertised it as bromance).
Even if you go watch chinese dangai (danmei adaptations), you'll recieve what it is said (strong bond that may be read as romantic).
