You people are under spells
There is no way so many people genuinely thinks this is good. The story is all over the place: Zhang Linghe can't go past two episodes without hurting himself or almost dying, Tian Xiwei was just a butcher trying to make a living and all of the sudden she becomes immune to harm and puts Mulan to shame, she even kills a dude who's three times her size with minimal trouble. The kids were nice and well behaved but once the writer need them to start causing trouble they cannot obey (they get lost/taken away by villians multiple times).
Zhang Linghe's character is supposed to be an insanely important general, everyone is envious of his power and girls dad's all around the world want their daughters to marry him, but once he meets the FL he doesn't do anything of worth. She fights better than him, she can solve tense and/or political situations without him with no problem, she drugs him to go to battle. He is reduced to a pretty ornament while Tian Xiwei's character conquers the world. I normally don't mind this kind of FL but you really can't believe it, she's tiny and pretty like a doll but all of the sudden she's doing what men who grew up in the military can't.... sure.
I understand why the chinese government kinda shaded Zhang Linghe's performance and character, an pretty general who barely show emotions and is carried around, deceived and saved multiple times by a tiny butcher isn't exactly flattering. It diminishes him to a eye candy position and although he never looked better, it takes away a lot of the romantic aspect.
While I do understand that he isn't the main focus of the story, two well written characters can exist in the same project. Love Like The Galaxy, Prisioners of Beauty, Blossom. They all have strong and as independent as they can be FL without taking away the charm of the ML.
China still can't write a powerful and skilled woman without stripping the ML bare.

Could be better but it's great
One of the best releases the company ever had alongside with Khemjira, i hope they can keep up with the quality and chemistry between leads.Duang is a little too much a lot of the time but suprisingly, he can regulate himself in moments that ask for a more centered and serious stand. Qin is truly the sweetest thing to ever exist, i love his progression so much it almost hurts. Everyone else in this cast pale in comparison to them and i like it that way, nothing irritates me more than second and third couples being more interesting than the main just to jumpstart their careers.
They still do it here quite a bit with one of the couples, but it's never more than banter and sugestive scenes so it's ok in my point of view.
That being said, the rest of the show is very weak and it's the source material's fault, the novel is mediocre to say the least, the writers apparently had to make up a lot to fill 12 episodes and unfortunately you can definitely tell towards the end. After the whole 'almost-boyfriend-from-school' problem is resolved it's clear that they don't have anything interesting to talk about, so we got the abuse plot, which was very weird and could've been literally anything else. I skipped watched it and it changed nothing in my viewing experience.
It was incredible to see an real young couple being portraited in a bl production: holding hands, small kisses, fighting and talking it out, making out, having an insane sex drive and being idiots by trying to go at it in public spaces. People in love are dumb and sweet independent of sexual orientation and we FINALLY got a normal couple after years and years lacking it.
The last time i truly felt like this was with Bad Buddy. God, it's so good to fall in love with other people's love.
