It's over.. I can't believe it's done... What am I going to do/watch now? 😭 Thoughts below with spoiler tag...
- The heartbreak was real although I'm glad they kept it going and it didn't feel dragged out. After seeing the story play out, I appreciate how they were each able to be themselves and still end up together, revenge plot included. I may not agree 100% that it's what LBY should have done, but I can totally understand it and feel that it let them truly be with each other. One could argue that he should have been honest with her, but I get it was because he didn't implicate her. - SS questioning all that LBY had done for her was fair, she felt so betrayed at the moment. After the 5 years, I think she just needed swallow her pride and forgive him like she forgave all those who did her wrong in the past. I think it was her final step of maturity. - Can I just say that WuLei and Lusi did a PHENOMENAL job in this?? WuLei has always been great, but WOWed me with his emotions in the last few episodes. I've been a fan of Lusi for a while now and can see the growth her her acting skills. I've enjoyed her playful characters in the past, but the range of emotions in this has shown she's a great actress (her crying scenes !) - I will say I wasn't 100% satisfied with the last 2 episodes. The whole Huo City situation with Yanji kinda came out of nowhere... and the dungeon exploding with LBY surviving. Like what??? And then their reunion felt a little lackluster but I guess when you thought the love of your life was dead all is forgotten.
Overall very happy with this drama, best of the year for me (just beat WRTW). Will stick around in comments for a bit and write a review. Need to rewatch some of the episodes and the livestream as well...
PS. The Emperor is still my fav!! Hahaha.. I would have been pissed if I didn't get to witness the wedding because I'm annoyed we didn't get an actual wedding scene too!

Haha same! I was surprised they were so strict about device logins but totally understand. I hate that Tencent is making so much off of this fast track but honestly feel like this drama is so good and worth supporting. Willing to pay the $ no questions asked.
What what? Fast tracking 8 episodes meaning they will all get released tomorrow? Like I’ll know the finale tomorrow?
Honestly I get they are trying to make money but for a superb show like this, I’m willing to pay a few extra dollars to support! Glad they are making this option available as I didn’t want to wait for the episodes! 😂
