Who'd thought that the hardest part about finishing this drama would be the ML's terrible acting (stiff, exaggerated acting). This is the 2nd drama I've watched with Sung Hoon in it (first being My Secret Romance) and I can't believe his acting hasn't improved in 7 years. If it was a support character whose acting wasn't up to par, the drama would be more tolerable...but the fact that it's the ML who's dragging the drama down? Makes the drama difficult to get through.
Also, unfortunately, the FL is much weaker than I thought she'd be (yes, I get she has childhood trauma). But for a revenge drama, I was hoping for a kick-ass, empowered FL blazing through with some satisfying revenge. But for the majority of the drama, she's pretty lukewarm and the ML swoops in to rescue her most of the times (very damsel in distress, so potentially a + if you like that actually)
I know everyone has their preferences and liking a drama is very subjective but I'd have to say MMH is leagues better than this drama (my opinion) in terms of acting, realism, and pacing. This drama is still watchable if you're in it for the romance aspect but don't expect stellar acting or a strong FL.
hi is the ending happy? bittersweet or sad? thank you
It's a happy ending in the sense that the leads are together at the end but it's not without its own sadness leading up to it (the ending portions document Japan during WWII). They are separated for a period of time as the ML is sent away closer to the end but that doesn't take away from the strength of the FL, who has always been the main protagonist and lead in her own story.
ML/FL are reunited at the end (but not all their kids make it back unfortunately). It's a realistic tale of life, love, and loss. It does a great job of portraying the grieving process in between it all.
In short, it's not a classic tale of romance because this story's charm is in its FL and thats where this story shines. But the main leads are together at the end.
Purely judging from this drama alone (disregarding the real life scandal), it is an absolute gem! I binged watched it for the first time years ago and watch it leisurely on/off during meals now. This drama is a foodie's dream with a healthy dose of that growth, slice-of-life element we all love. It's both light-hearted and thought provoking at the same time; it does it all so well. Great plot and acting with feel-good moments all around. Don't let the 100+ episodes scare you away because each episode is only 15 mins long. I can't recommend this one enough!
FL carried this drama; ML is such eye-candy...but his acting is so flat! :( Overall though, I still thoroughly enjoyed this drama, which was equally packed with humor, cutesty-romance, a good storyline, and strong friendships to bind it altogether. Definitely worth a watch or two!
If you like romance, S2 is for you. There's a heavy focus on Naksu finding her way back to Jang Uk and Jang Uk learning to love and live again. The chemistry between the 2 leads is amazing! So if you like OP ML's (like literally, no one else can compete w/ him kind of OP), a good romance, and phenomenal ML/FL acting/chemistry, you'll love S2. I know I did! + the ending gives us the happy ending we all wanted from S1.
never! best communication and understanding between any couple i've ever seen in a drama. they never failed to trust each other and that solidified the strength of their relationship from beginning to end. their relationship/romance is the biggest highlight of this show!
Watched 12 of 13, the twist got me by surprise, I would have never ever imagined it and I'm sad that I hadn't…
if you like the actress/actor who played toem and li pu hui + plot twists, i think you'll really like "some day or one day". i only watched this drama because it's by the same production team, but "some day or one day" was next level good (this was decent).
huang yu xuan and li zi wei -- the OTP, separated by the the span of space and time, creating an intricately woven love story. i haven't fallen this in love with a drama in a long time. it's so cleverly written, the acting is great, and the emotions hit just right. 10/10 would recommend
is eunwoos acting here okay? when i was watching my id is gangnam beauty i didnt have a problem w his acting until…
It's watchable. I thought it was going to be absolutely terrible based on the negative reviews but it wasn't that bad (not saying it was great either). There were some scenes that were pretty cringey because of his acting (in my opinion) though.
Hi if you finished this drama could you tell me who ends up with who?
The main leads end up together. The younger brother (Yu An) ends up with the male lead's younger sister (Fei Fei) The female lead's bff ends up with the assistant, William. Happy endings all around (except for the antagonist of an ex-bf)
Can't believe I finished this. So much potential with the beautiful backdrops but the bad acting and lack of chemistry between the main leads killed it for me.
