lmao yes! this reminds me of legend of fuyao, cause back when it aired there was a running joke in the viki community that you should take a sip of water everytime they spit blood to keep hydrated lol. I'd prefer a drinking game, getting hammered with a xianxia sounds fun

First of all, not ALL comments are bashing AvenueX, stop with the blatant generalisation. Second, the comments which do mention her, we just find her review really unbalanced, she is entitled to her opinion but as a reviewer with a considerably large following she really just hated on the show. We don't want her to pander, we'd just appreciate a non-biased take. And finally, this is FAR from a mediocre show. If the story is not up to your liking, that's on you. But the aspects you have pointed out, more specifically AvenueX, were outrageous. Lighting: Yes it's flat. But give me ONE xianxia where the lighting hasn't been flat as fuck. I'd actually argue that this show did the lighting slightly better for certain sequences with VFX, but this wasn't a point that takes your attention away from the actual plot. If you were focused on the lighting I'd daresay you just drop the show, you're not even interested in it then why bother. Costumes: They are very good and in fact, imaginative. Periodt. Not everything has to be 100% like real life in something that is FICTIONAL. Makeup: Why the hell do you even care about a secondary character's foundation ffs Props: ??????? what??????? Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu have both done brilliant jobs with their roles here. My only criticism would be Bai Lu's character's progression, but then again, we are only halfway through.
Also, don't bash the efforts of the production team. That's a very low blow. An extremely low blow.
Ok I typically don't comment on drama discussions and shit but to new watchers who are considering watching this show but have reconsidered because of AvenueX:
Please don't let her reviews decide your dramas. Especially for xianxias. I respect personal opinions but her review for this show was wonky as f*ck and didn't even CONSIDER the best parts. That being said, check out the trailers, see clips, and then decide to watch it. don't go with the crowd's opinions. This is a good show. Yes it has drawbacks, but every xianxia aired till date has drawbacks. And consider this, we are only 18/40 episodes through, with major arcs yet to be covered. Enough from my side, you are your own person. Please make decisions rationally and not dependent on a reviewer's take. If you don't like it, drop it. If you love it, continue. The world will not hold you accountable for either.
