Regardless of Shen's motives, Yan Tuo is the cherished son of the opposition, who, of all the possible women, suddenly approaches and connects with the Blade, and conveniently appears on her side with information and affection every time she is weak, and manages to create a rift between her and the Hunters and to make her trust him and be relaxed around him and reveal her innermost secrets to him. If we didn't know he is the ML, this whole coincidence would be suspicious. Any leader would mistrust YT, not just Xing Shen.

If you ask me, the Huneters are being wiped out because they are slacking, they don't communicate, they make tactical mistakes and they've got a serious leadership problem and a people retention problem and they don't have so many hideouts and they don't seem to have a reliable non-Hunter network for information, but that's just my estimate.

Their hammers and whips are boosted. For example, they work with specific blood, and they can't really tell why. They know it's some sort of chemical process (the soil, the meat, the blood) but they don't kknow why, they just know it works. I don't think going in with cool-looking machine guns, grenades or some sort of smart bio bomb would offer great improvements. Or should they dip each bullet in Mad Blade's blood?

She has some nice, romantic costume dramas that are more relaxing, I think. Avoid the ones she is a warrior, because the battles and the occasional murders may upset you.

This side of his character kept me watching. Usually, one of the leads is cold and ruthless (here that would be the Mad Blade) and the other is the anchor type, the soft and caring (here, that would be YT), but thankfully, in this show, both leads are fit for the job they decided to do. Their characters are what is needed to do the job. They are equals.

There is a reason old tools are used on old enemies. If it worked the first time, why overcomplicate it? Where I see a hammer, they may see a metal, wood, weight, velocity, shape... Who can tell what exactly worked the first time?

I liked it this way. There was too much anger, from the few people who knew. Their postures, tense and rigid, their eyes, cold and judging, their words with an "we are now unfriendly strangers" undertone... This is the best and deepest kind of anger.

Dramas come in different genres. Pick the one that relaxes you, there are so many light-hearted ones. People's ways to escape from reality are different.

I'm not sure. I think he has other problems, I suspect his problems are related to his eye medicine story and the hostage.

I don't. This is war. The Fiends'good traits are a tool to survive, a skill they acquired during their long-lasting invasion, to help them avoid unecessary headaches. Just because they are not cruel to one human, this doesn't mean their heart is compassionate.

It was sort of unexpected, but not really.
The whole behaviour and interactions and framing of the character, like her insistent questions, was sus and I knew there was a problem, just not THAT big. NJL was her bloodbag, then?

I love her "tiny info pinged on her monitor" moments.
She hears a trivial thing during a trivial daily conversation, and her alertness antennas go up instantly and she makes three plans in her head before she even voices her concerns to Xiong Hei.

I agree his feelings cloud his judgement and he makes mistakes, this is his weakness. I disagree with the trust issue. Trusting any random person who approached the organization? No.
He should have been monitoring YT and using him, not playing 2ML during missions. This is not an office tomance, they are in secret war.
I'm afraid he will do more mistakes because of his background.

It was about time we got two main leads with equivalent strength. It's so tiring to see the usual "Ruthless Broody meets Whimsical Mellow, they kiss" storylines. This is a story about hunting Fiends, and the main leads' personalities are a good fit. I like the dynamic, and the more episodes I watch I like it better.

FL is resilient, decisive and skilled with blade and, as an artist, she has depth of doubts and conflicts, ML is psycho enough to pull the rug under the villains' feet and he seems to be a good scientist and he can fight well enough. They are both quite smart (or rather streetsmart ), they are both strong characters and they can think on their feet.

Nobody constantly has to heroically save the weakest one and then gaze longingly with lovestruck eyes. Their saviour tally is almost equal.

Xing Shen's only weakness is his 2ML syndrome: his feelings for NJL.

He is the best Hound. Xing Shen, as a leader of a group that operated in shadow against shadowy enemies MUST be vigilant. If I were him, I wouldn't trust anyone, not even Hunters, let alone a textbook infiltrator case. We know Yan Tuo is a good guy, but he doesn't. Jiang trusted him as leader, which says something, because so far, only Jiang seems to have some functioning brains.

It is supernatural (monsters etc) but it also has science in the modern day. But you are right, it's mostly monsters.

I like it so far, because it promises a fantasy/scifi/horror action drama and it delivers a fantasy/scifi/horror drama with logical stakes and logical decisions, and the villains are smart (not much, but enough). The plot is quite tight and I hope they will keep it this way. It is based on a novel.

If your main focus is the romance arc and if "they will have chemistry", find something else to watch.
Also, if you are squeamish (for Cdrama standards) don't watch, it has monsters and some visible blood shedding.

For a short drama, it was amusing and the storyline was logical.

Haha, well, thankfully they used uncles to play people who have a 10-year plus backstory as adults. And their wives are also grown ups.

I guess people don't want to watch this because it has more stab wounds than accidental kisses.

I am international fan and I give this 9.5 :) I don't know why people assume intenratinal audiences only like teenage-looking actors in long robes.
