I think this one is an inspired take of yes, the popular manga/anime spyxfamily. It has the same vibes but different.…
I don't think it is implied she has a daughter. In the very first episode, while reading her school essay in class, the little girl clearly says they used to be strangers who met recently.
I liked that the drama focussed on the mission stories and not on the love story, while the love story was everpresent. The drama had a way of highlighting the missions while at the same time highlighting the home life. I liked that the enemies were smart and prepared and ruthless.
One thing I really enjoyed was the lack of explanations for every single little thing. I don't need the slightest plot point explained to me.
They had such a good story (traffickers, betrayal, guilty secrets, murder, photos, psychology, unhinged suspects) and they just *had* to focus on his ex and their relationship? I hope the writers won't disappoint me, turning this into a romance with a little bit of crime story (as they usually do). It will be a shame, because the cast is good and unafraid to play in difficult and dark dramas.
this cdrama is so good.... I usually watch kdrama bc police/crime cdramas usually dissapoint me, but this is a…
They are making quite a few good ones, but the last episode is predictable and there is too much messaging that is not well-integrated in the dialogues. What you can do, is to find 5-6 leading actors that take part in this type of drama and follow their work. Usually older cast, not early 20s.
Don't know if I'll return to this one (watched 2 episodes) as I really really dislike psycho villains and this…
Do you mean cartoonish psycho and blockbuster villain cackling, or just that you don't like the type? I'm trying to understand if the acting is good enough to watch (subdued but powerful acting) or they will take the easy way (madman with red wine and mozart) and make it boring.
It was a good drama. I rated it an 8.5. The last five episodes were a slog to get through, the deaths were *anticlimactic*,…
30-31-32 could have been one episode, since the writers decided to leave open ended questions about everything and to focus on the couple and on house happiness scenes for 3 episodes, totally altering the ambience of episodes 1-29. I rated the last episodes high, only because they are better than other comparable dramas, not on their own merit within this drama.
I don't know why but recently all the dramas begin with potential but the endings are rushed. I feel like they…
The number of episodes doesn't matter. If a story can be told in a movie, it can be told in 32 episodes. The problem invariably lies with the writing and editing and the choices the director makes about what to keep and what to cut. We spend several minutes making dumblings and folding origamis. We spend several minutes in the last episodes trying to wrap up the love story, while all the other story threads remained hanging in the void.
It's not a problem when dramas change the novel, but it is a big problem when they mix and match without any strategy. This is what happened to this drama. They removed some parts, which I'm okay with, but the parts they added in their place didn't make sense and they created plot holes. Also, we spend way too much time on the *** star origamis and the *** dumblings, time that could have been used for advancing the plot or explaining one or two plot holes.
I don't care that they didn't insist on the final deaths of many protagonists. One thing I liked about this show is how minimal it was in this area. We don't watch 11 minutes of decapitating, we see a few seconds that are worth 11 minutes. On the other hand, we do watch 11 minutes of origami folding and I can't see why! (well, I can, sponsors)
The last 3 episodes are as if someone has fired the original team of directors and writers and decorators and hired a new team. The pace and the ambience didn't "belong" to the same drama that I've enjoyed up to episode 27, max 29. In the first episodes, we have impactful writing and directing. In the last episodes, I felt like I was watching one of those overhyped cdramas that bore me with cute scenes and love nests and elongated explanations of obvious things.
episodes 1-29: I give 9.5 episodes 30-32: I give 7 ((only because the 15-20 main actors were good)
Yan Tuo complaining about 'The most clichéd plot happened to me' really humored me because amnesia trope is indeed…
I loved exactly that, the realistic darkness and fuzziness of the forests, caves and rooms with switched off lights. I am so tired of perfectly lit scenes where all the director cares about is the leads' shoes or jewelery!
I don't know if it's just me because I often watch dramas with faster paces, but I think this drama has a slow…
It didn't have so many staring scenes, actually. They usually do 10-15 minutes per episodes only with "couples time". This drama didn't have that much. Also, it wasn't an action drama and didn't need fight scenes in every episode, it was a centuries-old battle and there were other things to do, like strategizing and protecting. It's one of the dramas I didn't skip anything in the episodes. I would have hated it if it was all badly-choreographed fights where the actors only try to look pretty all the time and look like social media reels.
This should at least get an 8.0 rating if not 8.1....
I don't bother with ratings, I see the cast and the first 15 minutes of the first episode. Even if the score is 0.03, if I like it, I watch it. If they drop the ball (story wise) on the second episode, I'd abandon it even if it has a 9.2 rating. For this drama I am on ep 26 without complaint, so I wouldn't care even if their rating was 4.9
I wonder where 'the scenes in episodes being cut and affected the story' idea came from. It was episode 24 that…
If he had fought in the cave, I would either drop the drama after watching so many episodes, or I would watch it as background while doing house chores. Instead, they show us how he slowly started eating and exercises and talked to people and got better, in a very logical and slow way. That kind of logical writing is what keeps me watching this drama.
This drama and the rating!!! Doesn’t make a sense at all! It definitely deserves more than 8.I used to believe…
People on the internet complain that the scenes are dark (in mines, deep forests, alleys and nightime, duh...), that there is no romance for many episodes, that the monsters are scary and that the Hunters should be wearing mao vests or pankou fasteners, to look more authentic. Go figure.
I think he want to understand the fiend transformation and all the different part of it and how they all link…
I agree it's all XS's fault because he is blinded from jealousy and he's a very bad leader and a worse organizer, but this doesn't change the fact that YT's case is infiltration 101.

1 would be better but they downplayed the original because it was too cruel for TV.
