Started slow but okay and after episode 7 it is just too slow and boring. Too many side stories with characters…
Totally agree. His so call smartness is somewhat patronizing to the FL. To me both the ML and 2ML are annoying. Also, I'm assuming that the ML and FL will eventually be more than just friends, but I'm hoping that they don't get together and just remain as friends.

Every time I see a character falls off a cliff they end up surviving. Hope she’s dead for good.
Why oh why does every historical cdrama have to have moments of "oh I'm doing this for her good" numerous times that leads to numerous misunderstandings. Also, despite Yukee Chen's excellent performance, the emotional scenes are not really that emotional with the exception of when the loyal maid died in the FL's arm. The bad guys death scenes are not satisfying as they should have been chopped up to a 100 pieces first.
Only good thing about this show is the relationship among Lu Ping/Xifan/Su Tang and their master. Mo Lin is a very annoying character, reminds me of Xie Xiao in Under the Power. Everything else is just meh.

If you want to take a break from the emotional heavyweights like NIF, Joy of Life, etc.. then this is it. It’s nice and light, and on top of that the FL is capable, strong, and intelligent. One thing I can’t understand is what the FL sees in the ML, the 2nd ML is better.
This is one of my favorite drama. I really like the FL character, strong and smart. Zhang Xueying is quite beautiful and plays the FL well. I didn't mind her acting , her expression whether it's sad, mad, or happy. Aarif Rahman is ok playing ML. The stiff facial expression, or maybe it's the long face that's a turn off. His ost song is very good though. Some commenters didn't like the chemistry between the leads, but I don't mind it. I like the unwavering love and trusts between the leads. Pretty much all wuxia dramas has their fair share of betrayal and one character uses another character to advance their goals, but this drama has way more than the average amount of betrayals. The side characters are good too. It's quite funny that the FL is always in trouble or in danger but her bodyguard is nowhere to be found most of the time.
